I would upgrade to the 7970 really. If you can afford go with the 680, but the 7970 would be fine if you can afford it, no stable drivers atm, but that should resolve it self out soon

Budget is already at breaking point. Not a fan of AMD especially if unstable drivers at the mo.

You could save £50 by choosing an identical spec, but going with the 17" Skyfire II laptop, same spec but different chassis and around £50 cheaper for same config.

I changed my mind after a google. The 7970M murders the 675M. Great call and thanks.

If you want to save some money you could drop the cpu down to 2.3ghz without noticing a performance loss in those games. If you'd rather future proof it though, stick with it.

I've dropped the gamut screen for the 7970m. Think again it'll be better performance & no cost increase.

My only worry is the hybrid HDD slowing everything down?

The hybrid is fine, a good choice. Its good value for performance, if you got a few more £ and dont mind the loss in space get the intel ssd 520 SERIES 180GB

Will I see performance increase over a standard HDD with a Hybrid & how significant?

Was now considering the 240GB SSD, which would you choose? I will be installing games in the main & some photo editing? I use iTunes match so no need to worry about that space. A 240gb SSD pushes cost slightly & was considering an external if more space required.

The Choices:
1) 750gb Hybrid HDD
2) 80gb mSata + 500gb Hybrid HDd
3) 240gb SSD
