amazon.co.uk

it has ratings so you see if the game is worth it and what you expect from the game
and also discounts all of the time , with up to 90%

you could try ebay but i prefer amazon is more safe and cheaper place to buy actually anything

i you are looking for a good game to buy i suggest this Half-Life 2: The Orange Box witch includes team fortress 2 and portal

Ps. check the ratings before cos some people comment about the delivery and other stuff rather than the actual product which its not fair cos it drops the rating of the product

Steam isn't really that expensive, on occassion publishers set there games at a slightly higher price than retail on Steam though in turn Steam has ALOT of sales.

The only problem I have with Steam is the amount of bandwidth you have to use on your connection to download the games, if you have a smallish cap with your ISP you will soon eat into it (not their fault).

I will be ordering some titles off Amazon to test my new pc with when it arrives. They are not only cheap but have never let me down once. :)

problem is you will always need to download stuff from steam left for dead 2 cd is 7gb and with the updates left for dead 2 is over 10gb so every time you install it again you need to download those updates every single time so when you go for broadband be very sure what you choose

I generally use Amazon for games. Then again I use Amazon for a lot of things (so much so that I signed up with Prime and even got an Amazon credit card).

Recent games I've enjoyed are: 'Batman Arkham', the whole 'Call of Duty' series (and I'll be getting 'Black Ops' too), 'Crysis' and - strangely - 'Portal'.

i usually use amazon and play.com. i like play.com because it has free delivery on everything (but variable delivery times, usually very quick, but sometimes it can take weeks), and alot of things are cheaper than amazon (after taking into account the free delivery).

I use a number of sites, I look between them all to find out whos doing the game I want the cheapest XD play.com amazon, zavvi (they have mega mondays and some great titles at bargain prices!) and hmv. I've also started using Steam as I had to get my free copy of Mafia II, I just purchased Supreme Commander 2 + DLC from there at less than 8 quid due to a sale they had on :) They always have some kind of sale on it seems and change the games round that are on sale a lot.

Zavvi took over from Virgin Megastores :) Very reliable and some great deals, buy a lot of stuff from them.

The Mafia 2 game came free with my PC, comes free with the GTX400 series GPUs

Steam and Amazon together are pretty much your best choices.

Ocassionally Games Gate can have a good deal and GoG.com if you're after classics.

i'm reluctant to use steam prefering to have the disc, i also don't tend to buy games on day of release so often use Billybargain to keep an eye on the prices. If you sign up, it will email you when it drops below your specified price.
