I'm not keen on CQC maps that allow RPGs and SMAWs. It really was a terrible game mate, you're right. I was on that server yesterday and had a couple of really good tactical games, I guess it's just the look of the draw who you end up with these days.

I'm so mad.
Joined a game mid way through, was doing well, 2nd on the team, 19kills 1 death. Got team switched, and spawn trapped. Ended up 45 k 26d.
Not a happy bunny...

Yeah not a fan of that map, many people fight over areas that are unimportant. All you need to do is take and hold B with say 10 players. Then the rest of the team can run from B to A or B to C, which is quite a short distance. The story for the other team is quite different, as they cant take B (cause of 10 players defending) they have to run from C to A or vice versa. Works a treat.

Can't watch the vid at work...but I always understood "suppression" in Metro to be:

Tight corridors & Stairwells

vs

Grenades
Launchers
...
Grenade Launchers

Haha I did chuckle.

But that is true of any game really. I regularly get stabbed/shot/squashed/dryhumped/beaten/poisoned/mauled/bitten/tickled/burned in all sorts of games...and its either "heal up with this hand first aid kit"/"sit down for a bit to recover"/"resurrected by someone else/thing".

Though a realistic game would be pretty boring:

Either

1. Create Character
2. Play
3. Get injured
4. Lay up for months, unable to play due to said injury
5. Play
6. Get injured
7. Rinse and repeat

OR

1. Create Character
2. Play
3. Die
4. Try and sell game on eBay


I think I like my unrealistic games now :D

Could use the Steel Battalion mechanic.

1) Buy stupidly expensive game controller for sole purpose of playing one game
2) Make game pretty difficult in the first place
3a) Die in game, Eject (hell yeah for an eject button) start again if you can afford another mech
3b) Die in game, fail to eject - Game deletes save

3) Downloads Updates (2 Days)
4) Loads Game (30 Seconds)
5) Stares at the screen with no idea (1 Hour)
6) Waves Mouse around and Clicks, nothing happens (2 Minutes)
7) Restarts computer in case it crashed (3 Minutes)
8) Nope its working fine.
9) Looks at manual. (1 Minute)
10) Uninstalls game. (20 Seconds)
11) At least i have a new DVD case. (LIFE)

Could not agree with this more. If I knew war tactics I would be the General of an army wouldn't I! I just end up clicking everybody forward into the middle of the field and then cheering them on as they get brutally murdered.

Same with simulator games (only really tried Cities in Motion recently). IF I KNEW WHERE THE BEST PLACE TO INSTALL TRANSPORT ROUTES WAS I WOULD BECOME A FLIPPING TRANSPORT MANAGER. BUT I'M NOT, SO PLEASE HELP ME DO GOOD.

I loved it in Far Cry 3 when he healed himself by pushing his thumbs back into the sockets, or plucking glass and shrapnel out of open wounds in his arms. That was pretty cool.
