Battlefield 4.... Is it worth it?

Yeah that was a brilliant round that was mate, our squad had a massive influence on the outcome of that one. All three of us worked hard to swing it, massively enjoyable.

If we could just muster a few more people we'd have games like that every night!

I'm Getting to really like BF4, yes it is different to 3 (and yes there are still lots of BF3 servers still running, ours is full every evening) but would you want a game that was the same!
I too love playing matches with mates, its a great way to relax, I like most of the game types conquest, TDM, etc its nice to change about

I've been playing a lot in Commander mode recently, but I think it may be time to get some boots on the ground again... I expect to be playing Conquest Large for a good few hours from around 8.30 tonight :)

Got really peed off with vehicle spammers on Dragon Pass and Paracel Storm earlier. I really hate how some jump in the Mobile Anti Aircraft and just spam infantry without even trying to take down helis or jets. They really wreck the game.

Stat padding FTL :(

After a couple of BF4 'Direct X' crashes managed to get a couple of Conquest Large rounds with Tallpaulos (TheScutta). We did OK personally but the team were woeful :(

Should be on again later tonight, sometime after 10 probably...

I have to say I'm enjoying my current console peasant experience on the 360. Whenever I play I'm with 2 other squad members always working as a team, we only play SQ-DM so between the 3 of us we make up the majority of a team and usually have a good advantage. It's very intense as every kill counts and I've had some fantastic games. And also, even though I hate using a controller to aim, it's so easy with the 'auto-aim' that it's quite a relaxed experience and so easy to do well. My K/D is close to 3.00 which I know it isn't all about K/D but when all you play is SQ-DM it matters a bit!

I'm sure I enjoy playing it on the PC more but I really can't knock the console version other than the poor graphics and wishing I could use my M+K. On a teamplay and ease-of-gaming basis, there's very much still a need for consoles in my household.

Can anyone fly on the PC using Keyboard and Mouse? I have to have a controller at my side to switch when i want to hit to the skys, i jusr cant the hang of it with the M&K.

Im glad its not easy though as you would be unstobbable if the air vehicles flew like arcade instead of simulator style.

Nah I find it impossible with M+K. I normally have a controller by my side but I don't think it works unless it's turned on before I join the game (it's wireless so that's rare). I do find it noticeably easier with the controller though. No clue how people play things like world of warplanes with m+k! Surely not everybody is sat there with an xbox pad.

I find it awesome with the controller but only if you remap all the controls, i have the triggers as acceleration and deceleration and the bumpers as weapons, ifs very easy that way.

Only problem is for some reason when im in first person and holding the break i cannot mauver but if im in 3rd person and using the same buttons i can. Its weird must be something to do with free look perhaps.

I can't even fly with a controller so I never pilot. Plus I keep forgetting to switch my controller on before loading up the game.

Im using a wired Xbox controller, its the only one i've ever had but i quite fancy one of the razer ones, there basicly the same but prettyier :)

Thanks -- so would any Xbox 360 controller be OK, or does it have to be a specific one? And what about drivers - would Windows 7 find the right one? (Sorry for the questions -- bit new to this console malarkey!)

Any wired one should work off the bat but wireless ones require additional hardware an xbox wifi adapter or something. It gets the drivers automatically.

Thanks again -- I'll pick up a cheap one on the way home from work and see how it goes. If I can't get on with it I'm sure the kids will make use of it!

If you want a controller id definitely go with an Xbox Games for Windows one, works with most games without having to manually bind the buttons
