Hello there
Not my first post... My bad...
Anyway, I thought I'd pop in to say "hi"
Not sure how active I will be here. I'm no stranger to forums but places like this tend to be more for tech support stuff, you know, when something goes wrong.
A bit about me:-
I'm a 1960 kid, so 59 this year.
I have had computers since the release of the C64 back in the 80's
Later that was followed up by an Amiga 500.
Then in the mid 90's I had my first PC built by DABS (remember them?)
In the early 00's I built my own PC which was to be my music production workstation. Spec wasn't bad at the time and I still have it, although it takes an age to power up XP.
In 2012 I decided to go down the laptop route and I purchased a CLEVO based thing from pcspecialist. It was a decent spec, though not the absolute latest CPU. But lately I was getting a bit fed up with its lack of processing power so I thought I'd go back down the desktop path.
I also have a Surface Pro that I bought from PC world. I love that thing... A true "laptop." Don't get me wrong, I love my CLEVO but it weighs a tonne!
So, my desktop is based on an i9 CPU with 32gb RAM, a 500GB NVMe OS drive and a 1TB QVO (would have preferred a PRO but the price was taking me over my overall budget).
Loving it so far... I've gone all RGB, which surprised me really. It just kind of happened.
Nice big full tower Dark Base 900 Pro Black.
Big dock off Noctua cooler.
Looks pretty cool
For graphics I had to go outside of PCS because I wanted the ROG STRIX GTX 1050Ti because of its claimed 0dB operation.
Played DOOM for the first time the other night, my fave FPS, and loved it. Had to make many compromises when playing it on the CLEVO, but not any more...
Right, that's it for now... Tea time... Don't want to miss Pointless!
cheers
