The new PCS build will be used for the following:

Web development: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, etc.
Android app development, i.e. running Android Studio and the emulator without any problems.
Gaming: playing the latest games from this year onwards at very high settings. No streaming, e.g. Twitch.
Watching YouTube and Blu-rays.

The monitor that I am probably going to get is the IIYAMA G-MASTER GB2760QSU-B1 27". This monitor is currently unavailable from PCS.

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated, please.

The only tiny thing I would recommend over what you already have is the 750w RMx PSU. What you have will cover your needs without any worry but the PSU is the only less than premium component in the above system.

Without getting silly I can't suggest any other meaningful upgrades. It's a brilliant build.

Unfortunately I won't be able to change to the 750w RMx PSU because I would have to change the case that I have selected.

It is a very long PSU. The TXm is a fine unit though so if you stuck with that you'll be happy I'm sure :)

I noticed that the other day. I don't get it to be honest. I think it would have to have a very specific setup within that case to have an issue but you can call to confirm.

I know it's a bit longer but it should still fit within just about any standard case. I know there are issues with internal layouts with specific setups, but it would need the perfect storm for it not to fit I would imagine.

RMx 750 is 160mm long, only 20mm longer than the TXm.

Seems really strange that they would limit it so much. I'm guessing they have struggled with the wiring in the past with the HDD cage or something.

Hmm, now you mention it, Fractal do claim 230mm PSU compatibility so should be enough for the, what, 180mm RMx?

I've not looked closely enough to see whether 230mm is only if you e.g. remove some SSD cages or something though. I've definitely had cases where you didn't want more than 160mm though, in some instances less.

Edit: 160mm for RMx then. Even weirder. Even allowing for fully modular cables you'd think it'd be enough.

What if it's thick cables not playing nice behind the motherboard tray? They're a pest on my R4.

Or would it matter if I had a TMx power supply with the bigger case?

With the 3700X the Corsair is massive overkill. If you're choosing it for silence then just pick the Corsair H100i RGB Platinum, it comes with the quietest fans I've ever "heard" (I've got the H115i Platinum). The lower end 240mm coolers are more than enough but I can understand wanting a bit of whisper.

The RMx is a far better PSU so where applicable and sensible it should always be chosen IMO. The 2070 will easily be powered by the 550W TXm but as soon as you go over 550W the RMx is the only sensible option. It runs silent most of the time, zero fan mode, and is fully modular.

I decided to change the case because I didn't want a budget case. And I have kept the same Processor Cooling: CoolerMaster MasterLiquid Lite 240 High Performance Liquid Cooler.

I have changed the Power Supply because it seemed a better option and might help with future upgrades.

Hi,

To help to light up the Corsair Obsidian 750D, I have amended my PCS order to include LED Lighting:50cm Green LED Strip.

Going forward in relation to backups, should I get one of these: 8TB Seagate Backup Plus Hub External HDD, USB 3.0?

The Corsair m.2 MP600 SSD seems to be currently out of stock because it's not listed on the PCS website. I noticed that the MP600 should come with a heatsink. The Seagate Firecuda 520 m.2 SSD doesn't seem to have one, according to the images.

I currently use a wired mouse and keyboard. The mouse is a Logitech M500. The keyboard is a Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000. Does anyone have any suggestions for good more recent replacements, which are wired?

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated, please.
