Hi

I'm looking to purchase a new gaming pc and i'm thinking about these specs -

I'm going to purchase a RTX 3080 when its out and have a 500GB Samsung SSD to use as the primary hard drive.

Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 7 3700X Eight Core CPU (3.6GHz-4.4GHz/36MB CACHE/AM4)
Motherboard
ASUS® ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING (DDR4, USB 3.1, 6Gb/s) - RGB Ready!
Memory (RAM)
32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3200MHz (2 x 16GB)
Graphics Card
NONE, I ALREADY HAVE A GRAPHICS CARD
1st Storage Drive
2TB Samsung 870 QVO 2.5" SSD, SATA 6Gb/s (up to 560MB/sR | 530MB/sW)
Power Supply
CORSAIR 750W TXm SERIES™ SEMI-MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET

Do these specs look okay. should i be looking to buy a better motherboard and CPU.

I want to play games at or close to max settings at 1440P but also interested to see how games play on my 4k LG B7 TV.

Yeah still fine at 120hz I would imagine. You could argue the 3080 but I honestly wouldn't waste the cash. The 3080 is 144hz+ now IMO.

Its purely for gaming in 4k. Decided against getting next gen consoles and have a budget of £2500 but I need to get a 4k 144hz monitor within that budget.

Unfortunately I don't think £2.5k is going to get you the level you are after. You can manage it of course. But have you checked the price of decent 144hz 4K monitors?

Cheapest 4K 144Hz monitor I've been able to find is the XG27UQ from Curry's https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/compu...ps-lcd-gaming-monitor-black-10206695-pdt.html

It's a good monitor, but it's only 27" and going down the 4K road, many would want bigger I'd imagine. You'd be looking at £1,000+ for the monitor alone for a bigger screen. With your budget, it might be doable by someone far more experienced than me.

It would need to be a 240hz 1440p screen to make any decent use of the 3080.

Or just wait for the 3070 and do 1440p

The thing is I game at 1440p at the moment on a GTX 1070. I’m able to play most games on max settings at fairly good frame rates. For example sekiro and dark souls both run in 1440p with max settings flawlessly. I do shy away from more demanding games though. It’s not everyday u spend thousands on a new computer so really want to step up to 4K.

It will be over £1k for anything half decent to make use of the 3080. Superwide would be my choice personally, but 4k 144Hz is just as expensive.

I ended up going with this build. will get a good 4k monitor once ive paid off pc.

A 750w PSU will be enough wont it ?
