My new computer won't boot.

I really don't understand why you seem to think I'm lying about this, and even if I hypothetically bricked my motherboard my removing the flashdrive halfway through installing the BIOS update, I guarantee you the board wouldnt be signalling a GPU error.
And that's true of course, but we're really dealing with two issues here...

1. You flashed the BIOS without PCS's approval and that may impact your warranty. I do advise you to get this checked out for your future peace of mind.

2. The LED clearly shows you have a graphics card error of some sort. You're in safe hands with @SpyderTracks with that. :)

I understand @ubuysa and I do appreciate you pointing that out. My disagreement with Scott seems to be that he thinks I'm lying, which I don't see what benefit that would bring me, but anyway. Thank you for being reasonable :)

Hi Spydertracks, I'm not entirely sure what you mean? Here's an image of the cables:
Just double check that it is indeed two separate PCIe cables running back to the PSU, and not 1 to a splitter.

It's difficult to tell from the photo's, to me it looks like the PCIe cable offshoots are just cable tied together, we can't see where the cable is trailing.

I also wouldn't be happy with that PSU given the CPU and GPU combination, but that's another matter. It should still boot fine.

Also, what output are you using from the GPU to the monitor? And is it definitely plugged into the GPU and not the motherboard?

I called the PCS reps before purchasing the computer as I did have two questions - one about the PSU and one about the cooler (when building there was a "stock AMD cooler" even though I know the 9 5950X doesn't come with a cooler) but they said they'd both be fine - even in this smaller case. I do plan to keep an eye out on the temps to make sure it doesn't get too crazy.

In any case, I can't see a splitter anywhere - if this is the problem, would PCS have to take the PC back anyway I imagine?
I guess when I made the post I was hoping there'd be a simple solution I could do myself but that doesn't seem like the case :(

EDIT: I tried a display cable and HDMI, as well as 2 different monitors. And yes absolutely sure its going into the gpu and no motherboard lol

A splitter is just a single cable that runs to 2 outputs ie splits the cable into 2. You just need to follow the gpu cable and see which output/s it goes to on the PSU

Sorry, I edited my response after I saw it. I tried a display port cable and HDMI, as well as 2 different monitors. And yes absolutely sure its going into the gpu and no motherboard lol

Ok, think you’ll need to do an RMA then unfortunately, sounds like a dud card.

If it were me though, I’d cancel the order anyway and get advice on something much more suitable, the build as a whole is never going to be very stable with those components

Thank you for your help. This is sad but I guess these things happen.

I have a budget of about £2000. What would you recommend I change?

What’s it for? What monitor are you pairing it with? What resolution and refresh rate or make and model if you’re unsure?

I mostly do gaming at home, but with this work from home business I've been using for work as well - editing footage. Also do some streaming every now and again for fun.

I currently have a 2k 144hz/165hz and a 1080p monitor.
