Change the CPU to an AMD CPU. Check Martin’s post on why I advise that.

As stated above, an AMD build would suit you better than Intel at the moment.
To help us make other adjustments please could you let us know the following:
What is your budget?
What are the uses for your PC? e.g Gaming, streaming, photoshop, rendering etc
What monitor do you have? Make/model or resolution and refresh rate would be handy to know.

Does that 1K budget include the monitor then?
If so you would be better off saving more money, even if you have a separate budget for monitor & the other peripherals required, you are going to be struggling to build a system that will last, as PC components are at an all time high price wise at the moment.

That’s as about as cheap as I can make a solid build which gives you an upgrade path which I would recommend for 1080p 144hz gaming at the moment. Ideally it will be worth paying the £90 extra and getting the 5600x

unfortunately it’s not a good buyers market atm with components costing more than normal

Resistance100 did a very good work making a solid build for your needs, creating a good path for future upgrades and also fitting in the budget (more or less). You'll get a great performance for this money.

why does it need 850w power supply?? is 450 enough??

Because you don't want to have your PSU running at near 100% capacity for it's entire life, it's less safe and shortens the life of it a lot. Plus going for a higher wattage Power Supply means you have more space to upgrade. For example, if you wanted to upgrade your graphics card, you'd probably need to upgrade your PSU too (spending the money now = a £65 upgrade, Replacing your PSU down the line, for one you'd want £125) Short term spend = long term save

MrWilson

Godlike
Hey,
Looking at the price on the new build, have you managed to stretch your budget a little? Looking back it seems that you had a 1k budget previously which obviously we're pushing past quite a bit now!
The Asus 2060 is not worth it; it costs more than the 3060 so would advise going with the 3060, or seeing if you can self a 2060 or 1660 super to keep costs down.
The TUF motherboard is worth it over the Prime; I wouldn't use the Prime for anything other than a basic office PC.
Boost the wireless card to the AX200, or ditch it completely if you have an ethernet connection.
Ditch Bullguard as it's known to cause issues and Windows Defender does the job nicely.

MrWilson

Godlike
The 3060 is about £70 more
Oh that's my mistake, I do remember that when PCS added the ASUS 2060 in a week or so ago it was more expensive than the 3060, looks like it's normalised a bit now. That being said I still wouldn't recommend the ASUS 2060; budget depending you should either look at the 3060 or if budget is more constraining try and source a 2060 or 1660 super elsewhere.

Grand Master
I see you have now moved up to a 3070 for the GPU. Have you upgraded to a high spec 1440p monitor now? A 3070 is overkill for 1080p and a waste of money. For WiFi you really need the AX200, as this is much more recent, has access to 5GHz and includes Bluetooth. Bullguard is known to cause problems and should be removed.

Some on here would recommend additional cooling for the 5600x, while others might be happy with the stock cooler. I have a different CPU with AIO, so can’t offer a definitive opinion here.
