Ok this is the high level spec, comes in at around £1500 inc vat. Daughter has been looking for a while, basic requirements are a gaming pc, streaming capabilities. The pc she wanted from pc specialist is out of stock and won't be available for a while. Any help appreciated, cheers.

Since this is a PCS forum we can't advise on self or competitor (in case builds) I'm afriad.

For £1500 we can spec you up a decent build if you can give us some more info which will perform great :) (however if time is a factor there is around 20-30 working days wait for most custom PC's at the moment)

Apologies! Obvious when I read it back.. I'll get dd to find the original pc spec that is currently oos and post it here to see if we can come up with an alternative. Time delay isn't too much of an issue but ty for the heads up 😊

When you get back to us, it’d be handy if you could also let us know what monitor she has. The make and model or resolution and refresh rate would be helpful to know in order to help spec a system 🙂👍

Of course! Let us know if there’s a separate budget for those peripherals and we’ll see what we can come up with.

Hi, the requirements I'm looking for are: at least 16GB RAM, Intel Core i7, a decent amount of storage and decent graphics. It's also mainly for not only gaming, but also streaming as well, games like the Sims, Minecraft, Sea of Thieves etc. A budget for the desktop is £1500. Maybe a 27'' monitor that's somewhere between £200 and £300. A good fps rate would be good as well. I'd also need a gaming keyboard and mouse that are preferably under £100. Any advice you could give would be great, thanks for your help!

AMD are currently dominating the gaming CPU market and a R5 5600X would be a great choice. Is the monitor and keyboard and mouse included in this budget? If so you may struggle a little, if not, we can get you a great machine for £1500

With the budget of £1500, you can get a 3060 Ti alongside a ryzen 5 5600x which would dominate 1080p gaming, hence why in that case you’d want to go for a 1440p monitor if you’re interested in that. It would easily stream any game your daughter would want. If you’re not looking for 1440p gaming, then the 2060 SUPER is recommended. One of the best GPUs for 1080p gaming, especially when paired with the 5600x and you can still stream and everything with a more balanced build around 1080p gaming, which would also last you a long time

Thanks for that, the budget for the desktop alone is £1500. I'm still not sure whether to go for Intel or AMD, which would you say is better for streaming on Twitch? Thanks for the advice

I think that AMD is generally better than Intel at the moment - as Junior sent you, you can check the AMD vs Intel post to see why. Summarised - Intel has security issues, and AMD is a more bang for your buck CPU for every gen.

My daughter's current desktop is an all in one HP Pavilion Ryzen 5 3550H, with only 8GB installable RAM. Would the Ryzen 5 5600x be a step up from that? At the moment the desktop we have can't handle streaming games without being extremely laggy and slow. Thanks

Assuming you need a windows key, this is the build I'd suggest. the 3060TI and 5600X will be a great 1440 144hz experience and the 850W PSU will give it lots of future upgradability. There's also a 500GB SSD for OS, programs and most played games then a 2TB hard drive for everything else. The case could have a little more spent on it but the one I have picked I feel is a great bang for the buck case with decent airflow and 3 RGB fans as standard (along with a 4th for exhaust)

Yes, the ryzen 5 5600x would be a huge stepup from that. The build that junior showed you is really good - I recommend you take a look into it. This build will have 16 gb of 2x8 RAM, which helps a lot with the PC, and your daughters streams wont be laggy at all with it included in the build.
