New dream PC build BSOD. Doesn't log in/start

Hi all,

I am desperately seeking advice.

I got this computer from PCS about 2weeks or so ago and a Gainward 3070 last weekend (wanted a 3080 and didn't want to wait for a relatively affordable one on ebay, the idea is that this PC will be as 'peace of mind' futureproofed I could get). Unfortunately it isn't working and I have no idea what to do, I am very sad about this.
The problem is that the computer boots and when it gets to the windows pre-login/pin screen it just gets a BSOD and i can't get into Windows. It chains this over and over. I'm afraid I don't know much about how these work so all I've done is reseat the RAM sticks and make sure everything was plugged in properly. I was hesitant about touching it because as mentioned I dont know what does/doesn't affect the warranty due to my limited pc knowledge.

I thought I'd try here before phoning PCS. If I could I'd get them to send someone over to fix it and pay for that.

As soon as its done its pre windows stuff and Windows gets to the image youd click then go enter your pin.

The computer also cuts out then turns itself back on when it starts, never had one do that before, no idea if its relevant.

Many thanks

Im sorry but I don't know what Im looking for with regards to the lights.

They all light up at one point before it gets to the windows pre-login screen where it BSOD's and either restarts or goes into some other options. One of the RAM stick itself the light is a different colour to the others.

The red and orange alternate, then it turns itself of and on again, then all 4 at some point come on, stay on, turn off. Honestly its confusing as hell watching all the lights while its stuck in some reboting loop lol.

Did you get the graphics card yourself separately?
I've included the purchase history for the orders.
I couldn't get a graphics cad with PCS after waiting over 3 months. When they told me I couldn't keep my queue for the 3080 I had originally ordered I amended as oer advice email and got it sent without a card initially.

I used it briefly with my old graphics card but there were issues with the monitor. Half the time it wouldn't turn on. The times I could get it to stay on I downloaded the game I play as I really wanted to use my new PC, but when adustng resolution it turned off and I havnt touched it since. I left it alone until I could get a 3070 and thats where I'm at this weekend. I've tried reseating 2 of the RAM stick, the pair I thought was the issue, I'll try your recommendations now. Thankyou.

Have you used it with NO graphics card, just the way it was sent out by PCS? And monitor straight into mobo?

Did you fully uninstall your old graphics drivers and update your 3070 gfx drivers using geforce experience or from the nvidia site itself did you fully update windows when you recived the pc (windows updates )

No, I'll try it now

I've removed the graphics card, I can't see a Displayport/HDMI connector on the motherboard and there isn't one on the back.

Regarding the drivers, I realise I forgot to update them for the old card, a mid-end AMD radeon one, and I have never got to the desktop with the new card so wouldn't have been able to do anything even if I remembered. I have tried to do it in safemode, but obviously (afterwards) i realised you cant download anything in safe mode. I saw there was a cd in devices that had some motherboard things on it so installed a few as they werent there previously...

The card itself fits but getting the DisplayPort connector in is a very tight fit, so I dremmel toold its edges to fit. If I00% knew ths was the issue i'd chuck the warrantry and remove parts of the grill on the back, personally. But obviously not doing that anytime soon.

Sorry to ask so many silly questions it helps form a picture
Please, if you are inclined to help ask anything because as you can tell I have no clue beyond very very basics. Yes I have got to desktop in safemode, whereas without safemode as soon as the first windows screen loads, lets say a tropical picture that you get before putting pin in, it crashes instantly.

This sounds alot like a driver issue you need to either reinstall windows completely then run windows update until there are no more updates then download the 3070 gfx drivers using geforce exsperiance or try going into windows in safe mode and reset it

When you use the “Reset this PC” feature in Windows, Windows resets itself to its factory default state. If you purchased a PC and it came with Windows 10 installed, your PC will be in the same state you received it in. All the manufacturer installed software and drivers that came with the PC will be reinstalled. If you installed Windows 10 yourself, it will be a fresh Windows 10 system without any additional software.
Do not install any third party antivirus software fully update windows then update your 3070 using geforce exsperiance

This may not fix your issue but negates alot of possible issues and check alot of troubleshooting options but it may very well work have a go and let us know how you get on :)

I've started the reinstall process. I dont mind how long it takes as long as it gets fixed eventually. I've waited since October... (not PCS fault).
