As with cars.... red is the fastest.... OC mode on my rig denotes all over red RGB 😆

Great work though. I strongly advise everyone to dabble. It brings about a high sense of achievement, especially nowadays where modding is accessible without a soldering iron. It gets you into the workings of your rig while still being fairly safe.

I tip my hat to the manufacturers and designers. They could easily make things die with a short but they chose to let curious customers be adventurous without peril.

Couldn’t agree more. I totally understand that the inner workings of a PC can be a bit overwhelming to a newcomer, the first time I replaced a PSU I was sure that it was going to explode when I switched it on and I’d be picking shrapnel out of my face for the next fortnight. But I’ve found over the years that they’re actually quite difficult to destroy, as long as you approach things sensibly and work methodically.

It’s not a well known fact, but I do enjoy a bit of rainbow unicorn vomit when it comes to PCs. After owning a dull black tower for many years I’m loving having some RGB illuminating the innards of my system.

My Corsair iCue 220T case came with three SP120 RGB fans. It didn’t seem enough. So I also added the H100i RGB Platinum cooler to my order. Still not enough. Corsair RAM that comes with RGB? Yes please. But something was missing. I know... an ARGB light strip would be the cherry on top.

I enjoyed this for many a month but there was an itch I needed to scratch. More RGB was required and I had about fifty quid left on an Amazon gift card that I didn’t really know what to do with... so yesterday I ordered myself some treats. Two sticks of dummy RAM, there’s no memory in them, they’ve just got the lighting LEDs. And another fan to add to the back of the case for some extra exhaust.

Now here was the part that concerned me. The case came with SP120 fans, the cooler with ML120 fans, and the extra fan that I ordered? An LL120. Three different types of Corsair RGB fan in a single system was a bit of an unknown quantity. I discussed it with @SpyderTracks months ago and we thought it could be catastrophic, it could bring about an extinction level event, it could cause the fabric of the universe to collapse in upon itself and fade into a delicate hanging cadence. We just didn’t know. But I had to try.

So with my trusty screwdriver, today I set about my system to see if I was about create my very own hadron collider...

Excuse the mess, everything had to come off whilst I installed it. And I’m not sure any of it is back in the right place. Mrs Cooper is going to go mental... but I can’t help myself 😬
