quite interested about this, played the original and would like to see what improvements it has


spec for title, out may 6th 21, i believe its free for existing owners of the original title, more info on the steam link

This update is so extensive, it couldn’t be delivered as a patch and will be available for free to all Metro Exodus owners for free as a separate entitlement".

As this edition of Metro Exodus can only run on Ray Tracing capable set ups, check out our PC Specifications recommendation chart.

Had the non-enhanced version on GamePass (with the DLC), but came to play it again a couple of weeks back (just before this announcement), and realised it's been removed from GamePass and my library.

Not planning on paying for it when I've completed it a couple of times...for free...already.

As the owner of a 4K screen who finds 30 FPS a lil stuttery in actiony/shootery type games, I can see me having to fiddle around with the settings to get to something approaching 60 FPS. 🤔

BTW, Metro exodus is a part of MAY humble choice, if you were not subscribed for a while you can get up to 3 months for 7.5 euro right now. All owners of metro exodus on steam will also get the enhanced edition for free.

Perfect time to buy humble choice for super cheap and get another 11 games on top :)

There's a couple of us subscribled to Humble Choice already, so this thread may be worth keeping an eye on in a couple of hours incase there's a spare copy of the game going. :)

great tip, but i pulled the trigger on humble this time myself :) i like collecting games, got like 720 on steam ... xD

:( there a certain point in the game where you come out of a cave and upon exiting the cave it just crash and locks up was really enjoying it up to that point so hopefully the enhanced edition has a bug fix for that particular bug :(

It offers additional Ray Tracing features including Advanced Ray Traced Reflections and support for the much requested DLSS 2.0 on NVIDIA hardware, which offers sharper image details and increased framerates and display resolutions. Hopefully DLSS 2.0 should help you in your quest :)

little correction, it is not additional feature of ray tracing. It is from ground up remade lighting so everything is ray traced. Instead of just one bounce, there are now infinite bounces and no fake lights. The new version literally cant be even turned on if you dont have at least 2k series gpus. also the DLSS is version 2.1 if i recall correctly

We are pleased to announce that the Metro Exodus PC Enhanced Edition – a radical update that harnesses the power of Ray Tracing-capable GPUs to deliver an incredible visual upgrade – will launch on May 6 2021. The PC Enhanced Edition is FREE to all owners of the original release on Steam, the Epic Games Store, Good Old Games and the Microsoft Store.

It offers additional Ray Tracing features including Advanced Ray Traced Reflections and support for the much requested DLSS 2.0 on NVIDIA hardware, which offers sharper image details and increased framerates and display resolutions. Further collaborating with NVIDIA, this update improves our existing Ray Traced Global Illumination tech innovated with the original release of Metro Exodus to make every light source fully Ray Traced, and implements our Ray Traced Emissive Lighting tech from The Two Colonels throughout the game.

This upgrade is so extensive, it will require a Ray Tracing capable GPU as the minimum spec, and will be delivered as a separate product – it is not a simple ‘patch’ to the base game – instead it will be offered as an extra entitlement to all existing Metro Exodus PC players.

I think the website said 70-something, but the download window once started said the 66.

Maybe one is the actual download size and the other is the space required once some assets are decompressed.

I finally got round to playing this but sadly, my PC does not meet the minimum specs now, so now I will have to wait until my new beastie is delivered before I can enjoy the enhanced edition
