My question is that I'm not planning on upgrading for at least 4 or 5 years. I play AAA games and do some 4k video editing as well as work and the usual boring day to day tasks. Is it worth upgrading to the 64gb ram or would 32 be ample for a while?

For video editing, depends what kinds of files you’re editing, what resolution and format?

for gaming 32Gb is plenty for years to come.

Ok, hope you know what you need.

just to add, with the 4080 or 4090, you NEED the external watercooler or the system will thermal throttle. even more so important with a constant all thread load like editing.
Would a underneath fan pad be suitable or does it have to be the water cooled version. I have read mixed reviews on it. People saying it only makes a couple of degrees difference. It's also a bit of a faff to setup originally?

Underneath fan doesn’t have any impact on cooling. It’s simply blowing air onto the underside of the chassis where there are no vents.

Maybe but it DOES make your system run more quietly. It's definitely worth having the watercooler.

Absolutely, sorry, I didn't add that part. Over the 4070, you basically HAVE to have the water cooler if you want available performance out of the system, plus for it to run a lot quieter.

Thanks for pointing that out Paul, my comment was purely about the laptop coolers that you find on amazon with simply fans blowing into the bottom of the case, they're kind of irrelevant these days.
