Hey guys,

Needing a little advice... looking to get a laptop.. preferably for 4k editing. I've never done this before with a computer, normally use my phone but the heats from the thing is getting too much.

I'm looking to spend 3-3.5k MAX on a good set and and just wondered if people could help steer me in the right direction?

I wouldn't go any lower than a 4070 on a laptop that doesn't require an external watercooler.
Laptops usually cannot be upgraded since the CPU and the GPU are soldered to the motherboard.
To avoid becoming obsolete too soon, it's better to purchase the highest tier possible in advance.

I didn't even realise that laptops ran external coolers before yesterday to be honest.. just looking for something that a can edit 4k on but also not take up too much space in the house. Unfortunately I don't have enough room for another desktop or that would be top of my list haha

If it does not need to be portable, I don't see the problem with having an external watercooler.

Sorry, but I'm not sure I understand the argument.
Whatever internal components are used, the Recoil chassis remains the same.

The external cooler is easily detachable at any time.
