PC not booting up

My PC hasn’t been booting up for a couple of days.

It wasn’t picking up the CPU cooler which I wanted to upgrade anyway so I purchased the H150i.
Installed it yesterday but still getting the same issue.

I did use the PC for a couple of days before it stopped working which I probably shouldn’t have done. I checked the CPU as well but didn’t see any issues with it.

Any ideas?

The status LED is highlighting a CPU error
As you used it without a cooler, I wouldn't bother wasting any time on it, even if you get it booting the CPU is likely to be damaged. You'd need to RMA the system.

Why have you upgraded the cooler anyway? The H115i is very much the same as the H150i in efficiency, but quieter, both are overkill for the processor.

The sensible thing would have been to ask for advice when the H115i started failing, I'm afraid you've made matters worse.

I'm just wondering what this sentence actually means...

What does 'picking up the cooler' mean exactly? If you mean that the cooler wasn't working at all then I'm in full agreement with @SpyderTracks that you have more than likely cooked the CPU.

I would never disagree with @SpyderTracks about hardware but I do like overkill. On my recent build I deliberately overspecced everything, including the cooler. I never like to run anything up to spec - I always want a big overhead available. But that might just be me...

The H150i and the H115i are very nearly the same cooling equivalent though, the H115i has 140mm fans so they operate at lower rpm leading to less noise. The H150i is 120mm fans.

On that chip, cooling will be the same, it’s only if it was a higher end 12 or 16 core that you’d actually get a difference in operating temps.

Im in full agreement though, I usually overkill especially with cooling, I’d rather have headroom to spare than operating anywhere near limits
