PC suitable to run a CUDA core-heavy program

Hi experts out there. I have a scientific program (mathematics) that will use many of any available CUDA cores. I would like to know if my spec for a PC specialist desktop (shown below) will be OK for that type of activity. I am price-sensitive, so the build will focus on the GPU NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti - I can't afford more than that. 8960 threads at that price was good value was my reasoning. But the rest of the build may be over specified, then perhaps I can scale the over-specified element back. Worse still perhaps, components may be underspecified, leading to unhappiness. I am not a gamer, so I don't need a high spec for sound or screen.

Any thoughts on this would be welcome.

MOST VALUED CONTRIBUTOR
This PC is not enough. If the only component that matters is the GPU, it'll probably work (probably), but ultimately it is lacking in several areas.
  • The motherboard is very basic: I would urge a higher-tier one.
  • The RAM is slow and, crucially, single-channel, which will restrict performance in anything CPU-related.
  • The storage is a cheap SSD: it'll work, but the longevity is open to question.
  • The power supply is a cheap option: for a card as power-hungry as the 5070 Ti, it's very marginal. I would not trust it.
  • The cooler is insufficient, even for a chip as efficient as the 9600X.
Could you post the whole spec as explained here?

What components would you recommend on motherboard, RAM, power supply and air coolant?

I'm going to start by saying that I don't know your field. I don't know if your work will be 100% GPU-dependent (like, say, crypto-mining), or if CPU performance is in some way important to keep the GPU fed. If it's the former, you could do things more cheaply. But I'd be inclined to spend £100ish more and get a much stronger all-round system, which isn't quite so limited especially by memory speeds. I'd also go way stronger on case, motherboard, CPU cooler and power supply: these give a solid foundation for your system and cheaping out on them is rarely good value.

Case
FRACTAL FOCUS 2 ARGB GAMING CASE (BLACK) A case that has significantly more airflow and therefore cooling
Processor (CPU)

AMD Ryzen 5 9600 Six Core CPU (3.8GHz-5.2GHz/38MB CACHE/AM5) A slightly cheaper CPU with much the same performance
Motherboard

ASUS® TUF GAMING B850-PLUS WIFI (AM5, DDR5, M.2 PCIe 5.0, Wi-Fi 7) A much stronger motherboard, including integrated WiFi and better connectivity
Memory (RAM)

32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 6000MHz CL30 (2 x 16GB) Faster RAM -- makes a difference for CPU-intensive tasks
Graphics Card

16GB ZOTAC GEFORCE RTX 5070 Ti SOLID SFF - HDMI, 3 x DP
1st M.2 SSD Drive
1TB SOLIDIGM P41+ GEN 4 M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 4125MB/sR, 2950MB/sW) I'd prefer a stronger storage setup than this (ideally separate boot and storage drives), but this is a budget-ish way of doing it that allows an upgrade later
Power Supply

CORSAIR 750W RMe SERIES™ ATX 3.1, MODULAR, CYBENETICS GOLD A much better quality PSU (I'd much prefer an 850W one)
Power Cable

1 x 1.5 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead)
Processor Cooling
PCS FrostFlow 150 Series High Performance CPU Cooler Sufficient for the 9600
Thermal Paste

STANDARD THERMAL PASTE FOR SUFFICIENT COOLING
Sound Card
ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)
Network Card
ONBOARD 2.5Gbe LAN PORT
Wireless Network Card
NONE OR ONBOARD Wi-Fi (MOTHERBOARD DEPENDENT)
USB/Thunderbolt Options
MIN. 2 x USB 3.0 & 2 x USB 2.0 PORTS @ BACK PANEL + MIN. 2 FRONT PORTS
