A mid-budget PC that'll last for the next few years

Hello,

I've built a spec for a new gaming PC and I've built it around being able handle Cyberpunk 2077 on high settings in HD as I figured that would be a decent benchmark for the next few years? Could I get confirmation from more knowledgable folk than myself that this build will do the job?

My current monitor is a
AOC 23.6" E2470SWDA LED TFT - 1920 x 1080, 5MS, D-Sub, DVI-D

I can't go much higher than £2000 in terms of budget.

Cheers.

I guess I could stretch my budget up to £2050 for £200 on a monitor. I don’t need 4K.
Something like that will be little more expensive (around £100 more than your £2250), but it will be a decent 1440p gaming system with plenty room for future upgrades.

As a monitor, I believe this AOC would be a great value.

As above, you're right on the cusp of a good 1440p system. If you could stretch the extra budget to just round the corners as suggested by @Ekans2011 you'll be more than happy with your investment.

The solid platform means that you're likely looking at 10 years of longevity with GPU upgrades and perhaps a CPU along the way. The rest absolutely covers this and supports it.

With that in mind one small suggestion would be the 360mm radiator option from Corsair. It's a few more squids but guarantees any level of CPU you could fit. Probably worth just to cover the options.

Thank you @Ekans2011 and @Scott

Based on your suggestions, it makes sense to hold out for a bit longer and save to buy the build & monitor @Ekans2011 posted. I know prices on parts can change but I'm guessing it won't fluctuate too wildly over the next several months?

Yes, prices are constantly changing, and I can't make any predictions; as an alternative, you can buy without the GPU (£1350) and then purchase a 9070XT separately, possibly with some discounts, or go for the previous generation model (7900XT), which is about 10-15% slower in raster and performs worse in RayTracing but can be found for just over £500 (about £150 less than the cheapest 9070XT).

N.B. I do not encourage this; it is only an alternative if you do not want to/cannot wait a few months for your new PC. ;)
