sorry about that, new to all of this stuff! the monitor she has is quite old, samsung s22f350fhu 16.9 1920x1080 60hz . budget anywhere between £800-1050ish. I just want to know if the spec i put together looks viable to run marvel rivals/overwatch and possible new releases like that , if any tips to reduce the cost if im over paying for things i dont need, or possibly if i should pay slightly more for a bigger upgrade?

The build you posted is on a platform that's no longer supported and is now 4 1/2 years old, just to put it in perspective.

So that would be a throwaway pc, would last a couple of years before it fully needed replacing. And even during it's lifetime, performance would be restricted due to the CPU and GPU.

A well designed system would last between 8 and 10 years easily

IMHO, it's not worth it at all, waste of money.

For a decent entry level 1080p system, you're looking at around £1500 - 1700, then around another £150 for a suitable monitor.

Unfortunately, since the pandemic, prices have skyrocketed and not come back down, so basically cost of entry has pretty much doubled since 2020 time.

oh wow didnt know any of that, thats crazy... so what kind of pc would be possible for around £1000? would it be able to run anything for a couple of years atleast?

As said, for an entry level 1080p system (basic gaming), the budget needs to be £1500

Its just not worth it under that, you think you’re paying less but due to the short lived period, it’s actually costing substantially over what a well designed system would cost.

As such I just won’t offer any advice below a certain price point as it’s not in the buyers best interest

I completely agree with @BlessedSquirrel.
For a limited budget, consider purchasing a console (e.g., PS5 slim for around 400€) that can last for a few years while saving for a worthwhile PC.

I'll look into increasing the budget to £1500 in that case, possible to post a spec that would be suited for that price range? thanks a lot for the update, youve saved me buying junk!

This is the lowest I'd go, I'll outline reasoning against each spec, it is actually £1600, is the lowest I'd consider worthwhile.

Case
CORSAIR 3500X ARGB TEMPERED GLASS MID-TOWER (PCS) - Decent budget case, case is 1st about airflow with design second, this covers both bases well
Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D Eight Core CPU (4.2GHz-5.0GHz/104MB w/3D V-CACHE/AM5) - More and more games are basically requiring 3dVCache to perform smoothly without stuttering. This is the lowest I'd consider
Motherboard
ASUS® TUF GAMING B850-PLUS WIFI (AM5, DDR5, M.2 PCIe 5.0, Wi-Fi 7) - Decent board which can support upgrades to later generation processors like the 9800X3D or even the upcoming 10800X3D or higher multithreaded processors like the 16 core 9950X if your daughters needs change as she grows older. Covers you for a good 10 years longevity, if not more if you're updating the CPU.
Memory (RAM)
32GB Corsair VENGEANCE RGB DDR5 6000MHz CL30 (2 x 16GB) - Sweetspot for good gaming performance
Graphics Card
16GB GIGABYTE RADEON™ RX 9060 XT GAMING OC - HDMI, 2 x DP - Lowest tier I'd go personally, nvidia are more expensive, 16Gb is the lowest VRAM quantity you want to accept.
1st M.2 SSD Drive
1TB CRUCIAL T500 GEN 4 M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 7300MB/sR, 6800MB/sW) - Good fast primary OS drive
1st M.2 SSD Drive
1TB SOLIDIGM P41+ GEN 4 M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 4125MB/sR, 2950MB/sW) - older Gen 4 dedicated games drive, if you wanted to save a buck on the initial purchase, you could drop this drive and use the OS drive temporarily for games until you've got more budget
Power Supply
CORSAIR 1000W RMx SERIES™ ATX 3.1, MODULAR, CYBENETICS GOLD - Don't know how old your daughter is, but our needs constantly change, and with streaming games leading into video editing and sound work, not factoring in newer technologies like AI, her requirements for the system will undoubtedly change over the years of expected ownership, you want to be able to support any upgrades she wants to do over the lifetime of the PC (10 years or more)
Power Cable
1 x 1.5 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead, 1.0mm Core)
Processor Cooling
CORSAIR NAUTILUS 240 RS ARGB HIGH PERFORMANCE CPU COOLER - Modern CPU's at this level really require an AIO to achieve advertised boost clocks
Thermal Paste
STANDARD THERMAL PASTE FOR SUFFICIENT COOLING
Sound Card
ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)
Network Card
ONBOARD 2.5Gbe LAN PORT
Wireless Network Card
NONE OR ONBOARD Wi-Fi (MOTHERBOARD DEPENDENT) (motherboard includes wifi)
USB/Thunderbolt Options
MIN. 2 x USB 3.0 & 2 x USB 2.0 PORTS @ BACK PANEL + MIN. 2 FRONT PORTS

The key message here, that I also want to stress, is longevity. That system is far exceeding the budget that you initially laid out, but the massive benefit with going for such a build is rather than spending £1000 now, £1000 in 18 months, 36 months, etc..... You spend £1500(or £1600 now) and to stay level you spend £350 (plus inflation) in 2 years, then £350 (plus inflation) in 48 months. It makes a massive difference to the longevity of the system.

We sound like a broken record at times. You cannot get away from replacing the GPU if you want to stay at a certain level. The main objective from speccing a PC is that it's only the GPU that you will look to replace in future, rather than the system. There will come a time where the system just isn't up to it, but I would suggest that should be 8 years from now based on that very platform. If the same was applied to your suggested build that takes away almost 5 years from that time straight away, without even considering that it's previous generation RAM (also 5 years old).

You could potentially save on the CPU and Primary storage from the suggestion above. The savings on the CPU would mean a little less gaming performance, the savings on the storage would mean a little more loading time in general. For me they are luxuries that you could drop. The key word is "want" though. I would also want those items in my own build, if it was a limitation I would be able to lower to the 7700 and something like a decent Corsair to save some dough. The spine of the build is rock solid though and well worth your consideration.

Wouldn’t recommend this. Not one bit. A deal on a GENUINE Windows license that seems TOO GOOD to be true? It always is, and then you’re likely unsupported for major updates, vulnerable to malware… and at risk of your system going down completely if Microsoft find out there’s a bunch of cloned licenses and drop the Bill Gates hammer on you.

Spend the money on a license or transfer it from a device you may no longer need to the new platform.
