Well thanks for all the help. I've done everything but I'm going to leave Armoury Crate installed. Turns out I used it to dim the lights in my case, and I can't risk those coming back on at full brightness if I get rid of it. I'm not running a nightclub in here. I don't need 20,000,000 lumens of...
Alright I've updated the firmware. I read the warning wrong, it didn't need a USB stick, plus I figured it wasn't an important update since PCS didn't update it themselves before shipping. iCUE is totally new to me, never even heard of it before getting this computer.
Likewise, I don't know...
No antivirus (I'm told that these days the standard one built in to Windows is adequate and I don't go anywhere dodgy on the internet)
I've done Windows update and AMD (graphics card drivers) update.
There's a program called iCUE which wants me to do a firmware update but this one wants me to...
Sorry about that, here it is. I ordered it with OS license.

Got this PC a few weeks ago and happy with it apart from this rare issue. It happened for the second time today. The mouse cursor begins to move very slowly, like it sticks in one spot then jumps to a new spot rather than gliding across the screen, then the computer freezes entirely and I have...
I've decided to just get Windows 11 with it. I'm going to keep my old PC set up under the desk with a smaller monitor. Some days I don't play games at all, just watch stuff on Youtube, or play really old games on an emulator, so on those days I can just run my old PC instead of unnecessary wear...
But I don't have Windows 11, I have 10, and they'll be stopping support for it soon won't they? Or will I be able to upgrade it to Windows 11 for free once my machine is suitable, like when they upgraded Windows 7 to 10 for free?
...or I just get the better hardware, transfer my Windows 10 to...
I'll add Windows 11, I can just about afford it. You don't need to eat EVERY day anyway, that's a myth.
Thanks for taking the time to help me, I really appreciate it. I'll order it Monday morning if anybody else has any suggestions/changes in the meantime.
My current one (i5-2500, GTX 1660 Ti, 16 GB RAM, purchased from PCS) just isn't cutting it anymore, struggling to play the new games I want to play even at low settings, so I was hoping you'd all help me put one together since my hardware knowledge is well and truly out of date to the point that...
Is it a good time now? I'll be ready to order next week, Wednesday or Friday. Budget £2,000, willing to go a bit higher if doing so will make a significant difference.
When would be the best time then you think? January maybe? Because I don't mind waiting a bit more. It'll give me a bit more time to save another £200-£300 for a better processor/graphics card, and the one game I'm actually wanting to play (Stalker 2) has only just released and is full of bugs...
