OK sure thanks for that imput. Problem here for me is, I don't want to start messing around buying items, waiting a few days, returning them if they don't work and waiting another 7 days to get my refund, then buying another pair to try out and if it's the same issue then having to return it...

They are also compatible to work in note books and when put in to my laptop individually it works fine. The problem i'm having is that when I put them in together my laptop won't boot.

I might buy a single stick of 16GB ram instead of two 8GB modules as it seemed to be the second slot that was causing an issue. Any thoughts on that being something that might help?

So, would you suggest returning the ram and replacing it with a better brand would be the best option?

My friend deducted that I might have an issue with my RAM 2 slot and suggested returning those two 8GB strips and replacing them with a single 16GB strip and inserting that in to RAM 1 slot which I know is definitely working. Would anyone suggest this?

Well, I don't actually have the right kind of screw driver to get the whole of the back case off annoyingly! The spec is posted above. I did check and play around with the RAM strip and make sure it clipped in tight when I inserted it so I'm almost certain that isn't the issue.
