So the 5xxx series are now listed on PCS but you cannot order them until launch day.
With that in mind, I have a 3900xt build pending 3080 stock, I got an email with an estimated build date of next week (still in pre-production), my understanding is that the 5900x is around £50 more than the...
Was reviewing a few other threads and noticed one regarding Monitors, I thought I had ordered the XG27UQ but actually its the XG279Q which isn't a 4k monitor.. looks like I might have to buy that elsewhere...
They mean out of stock OR low stock levels e.g. they have it in stock but orders already reserved them.
Both are due to come into stock over the next week and my build will be pending stock of the RTX3080 which was a preorder anyway so I'm not really expecting this to come until next month at...
I'll proceed with the 680x then.. (y) Reading the link you posted am I right in presuming it has four RGB fans, three front, one rear.
Couple that with the two from the H115i platinum on the roof and theres only space for additional fans on the floor?
Adding fans seems to suggest they will ONLY...
Well, swapping out the RGB ram for regular stuff (don't think the rgb makes a difference) makes this case more affordable.. (£151) not sure why it wasn't showing up before:
PCS won't let you select the H500 ARGB case or the crystal as the H115 won't fit.
The obsidian appears to be cheapest 'full tower' case but damn it is fugly.
Also it flags the following per the power supply:
You have selected a 850W power supply, but based on our calculations you actually only...
COOLERMASTER MASTERCASE H500 ARGB GAMING CASE (£82)
502mm(H) x 228mm(W) x 525mm(L)
COOLERMASTER MASTERCASE H500M GAMING CASE (£186)
546mm x 248mm x 544mm
The H500M is bigger by around 20-40mm
Are you saying the case wouldn't be big enough to accomodate the components or airflow would be restricted?
How about the
CORSAIR CRYSTAL SERIES 570X RGB GAMING CASE (£113)
512mm x 234mm x 480mm
Seems this is the only Crystal series in stock
Tbh at this stage its only light video editing, I'm the 'Pc Expert' of the family so get given the cameras, videos, dvds etc in order to rip and backup the footage, my Octocore managed so I'm sure the 12 core will be able to handle it.
The only other editing I'm hoping to do will be to Youtube...
Any recommendations for cases? I thought the Mastercooler H500 was quite a good one tbh. My only gripe with PCS is the case selection, the pictures aren't great and its hard to visualise the size.
Edit: Just noticed the H115i RGB is the only 'platinum' version, looks like that's staying then.
I had an 850W PSU selected but PCS warned me it was overkill because the max power rating with a 20% buffer was 690W
TBH I am still debating between the 3900XT over the 3950X from what I'm seeing the performance is on par but I can make all of the changes you talk about here and actually get...
Hi Nursemorph,
Thanks for the response, I made some changes but have ordered the new setup so no need to adjust the quote.
I went for the Ryzen 9 3950X 16 core over the 3900XT. The core count is important to me for future proofing, my octocore has stood the test of time and even today it can...
I don't have the same CPU as the OP I have an old Bulldozer FX9590 currently, it was just an idea as this worked for me.
The parts not damaged, the system worked perfectly with full overclock under Windows 7 and other OS's but Windows 10 does not like FX9590 architecture, I know that sounds...
Windows 10 by any chance?
Find out what your stock processor core speed is and then in BIOS turn off any turbo settings and test it.
If that doesn't work, you'll need to go test some settings, in bios set it to 'manual' so that you can see all of the settings and turn down the multiplyer (it...
