Sound, might give that a try tomorrow! I'll try get into contact with PCS first though, see what they have to say.
Yeah, I've been checking the forums and seeing other people from ROI receive theirs with minimal difficulty so something definitely doesn't feel right.
Hey, I'm also from Ireland but Fedex refuse to ship to me unless I supply them with an EORI number? Did you have to do anything like that in order to receive your PC?
The guy from Fedex was saying it was because of the total value of my package (near 2000 euros) so maybe there's a value threshold when importing after which you need an EORI number? No idea really, trying to figure out this stuff myself through online research but it's quite hard to actually...
Hmmm, I'll see if I can get into contact with PC Specialist then. Probably not worth calling them now, it usually takes more than an hour to get onto someone and the lines close at 8. Thanks!
Turns out I do need an EORI number? Apparently if an import is above a certain price threshold it is necessary. They said I wouldn't need a VAT number to get an EORI number, but I've had contradictory info from elsewhere, and everywhere I look online about an EORI number seems to just assume...
They told me I don't need a VAT number? To have a VAT number you seem to need to be a registered business, and I'm just some dude who wants a PC to play games on
So someone at Fedex who actually knew what was going on finally got back to me, and I'm afraid it does seem to be more than just a time thing. Looks like I do need an EORI number for any imports above a certain price threshold, which my PC is. Though apparently I made a mistake and don't...
Just finished a call with PCS there and the issue seems to just be a time thing? Fedex seem to be unprepared to deal with customs post Brexit, so apparently it's just taking them ages to get through the invoices. I was told that if Fedex haven't contacted me by Wednesday to contact them again...
Tbf, this seems entirely more Fedex's problem rather than PCS. My PC has also been stuck in Kingsbury for over a week now. Just finished a call with PCS there and it seems to just be a time thing? Fedex seem to be unprepared to deal with customs post Brexit, so apparently it's just taking them...
Sounds like a good idea. I don't really hold the long phone times against them, these are crazy times, but it's still a small bit frustrating to have it wasted.
I've been trying, was on hold trying to call them for near two hours before it hit 8 and the lines closed. Nothing for it but to try again tomorrow. They phone lines are still open Saturday I believe? If not as long as a weekday.
In the same kinda boat, except Fedex are just refusing to ship to me, claiming it's unsendable, so my PC is just stuck in Kingsbury for the foreseeable future. No idea when or even if if I'll be able to get my PC.
Tried to call again, spent another hour and a half as place 2 in the line, not moving, until it hit 8 and they closed the lines. Truly a not great end to an already not great day.
Paid 21% VAT in Euro, at least according to my invoice. I'd be willing to pay the extra 1% if it would actually get delivered, so that wouldn't bother me.
Think that may be best, as after a 2 hour wait and becoming number 1 in the queue the line just went silent without me getting to talk to anyone. I think I may just sit down and stare blankly into the middle distance for a while.
Yeah, just a simple enquiry, didn't fill out any forms or anything. Yeah, trying to call PC Specialist not but been on hold for an hour and a half so might as well send an email as well.
Through the .ie site. I think what might be adding to the issue is I paid for it mid December before the UK...
