One of my favourite things about nvidia is the software and drivers they have, which I think gives the 580 the edge still :)

What would be An idea is to maybe get a 560ti and wait until the 680 is announce and sell the 560 then and wait a few weeks and then buy the 680 :)

If I were you, I would wait until sometime this month or maybe early next month when the 6xx cards will be released. It sounds like the best thing for you.

Regardless of how Nvidias' next wave of cards perform the HD7970 is here right now and is the fastest single card solution available, with 3GB of VRAM it's a good choice if you want this to last quite a while.
