3080 TI FE Build Help

Hello,

Having already got a 3080 TI FE on the way I was wondering whether ordering a pc without a GPU is possible or if an option of sending it in to be added is. If so I would like some help to spec a system to go with my 3080 TI FE with performance being the focus, the primary uses for this system would be gaming competitively as well as other games for fun and live streaming. I have currently got two 144hz 1080p monitors however am looking to get another monitor to make use of this new pc any advice on this would be appreciated as well. Budget is relatively flexible and am just trying to get a system which is well rounded and maximises performance, any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi there, the GPU can't be sent in but you can purchase the PC without one then install it yourself which is a very easy process. Just so you're aware, the 3080TI is an incredibly powerful card and you'd be looking at powering a 4K 144hz monitor or something like a Samsung G9. They cost from about £800 for the 4K 144hz and about £1200 for the G9, is this something you're aware of? Also, what is your budget for the PC minus the GPU? Having a number to work towards is a lot easier than guessing at how much you'd be happy spending

Yeah I'm aware I will need a good monitor to go with this system and just wanted some recommendations as for the price I would be willing to spend £2000 at max but I am mainly looking for the best performance and cosmetic stuff I am not too fussed about.

well considering the powerhouse of GPU you bought, if budget is not huge issue, might as well get adequate stuff with it.

you can adjust hardware size, case and stuff like that yourself
lowering the CPU to 5800x and changing the SSD to smaller one and including HDD on a side might save some bucks, so can changing fans to non LED versions and ram to non LED versions, if that is not a concern

disclaimer: i am not the best source for advice, people here have much more experience :D

This should be a pretty capable build for an incoming 3080TI!

Corsair 500D SE, lovely case and comes with 3 great looking Corsair LL fans. The 5900X is a top of the line CPU and will breeze past gaming and streaming. The motherboard needs to be paired up with the CPU so I've gone for the STRIX X570. 32GB of RAM should comfortably see you through the vast majority of games and streams. For storage, there's a 500GB M.2 Boot drive, then a 2TB SSD for Games and a 2TB HDD for general files (vods, documents, photo's for example). For PSU, I was a little undcecided between 850 and 1000, but considering we tend to suggest 1000 for the 3090, I've stuck to that, plus there's nothing wrong with going for a beefier PSU than you need. For cooling, I've opted for the H115i Capellix, it's a fantastic cooler will cool the 5900X nicely. If you need Wifi the AX200 is a no brainer, it gives 5Ghz bandwith connection and Bluetooth. I've removed the Anti-Virus as it's known to cause issues and the Silver warranty is well worth the £5.

One option you do have is swapping down to the 5800X and TUF X570, for gaming performance you really won't see much of a difference between the two and you'd save about £200. But the extra cores would come in handy for the streaming on the 5900X.

Just with reference to the G9 in sales, Amazon Prime Day is happening in June this year, on the 21st June, that would be the place to get it sub £1000 especially since it almost coincides with the release of the G9 v2 which is likely going to be nearer the £2000 mark.

Thank you for the build suggestion, I just have one question regarding the RAM what is the difference performance wise between the 32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3600MHz (2 x 16GB) you selected and 32GB Corsair VENGEANCE RGB PRO DDR4 3600MHz (2 x 16GB) as the latter is cheaper and was just wondering if it makes any difference.

There's no difference the RGB PRO just has sparkling RGB Lights on them

shouldn't be any performance difference the latter just has lots of lights on it, mind you @AgentCooper will probably say that the RGB improves the performance......

With my order going into building I thought I would ask a few questions I have, firstly what would be the best way to benchmark my new pc to make sure everything is performing as it should. Also as I play competitively was considering getting one of those 360hz monitors and was leaning towards the ASUS PG259QN but would like to see if anyone has any experience or thoughts, and finally is there anything else I should know to make sure I get the most out of my pc when it arrives.

I did the heaven benchmark and got this score and was wondering if anyone could tell me if this is a normal score for my specs.
