4 year warranty on graphics card?

Hi folks,

Beast of a desktop from PCS arrived this week!

PCS included the paperwork (though not all the original packaging) in the box, as you'd expect. Included was a piece of paper from Aorus/Gigabyte saying that if I registered my graphics card within 30 days of purchase I could upgrade my warranty from the standard 3 years to 4! Am I eligible for this even if I didn't buy direct from the vendor?

They require a serial number and 'check number' to register, but I can't as the latter is on the original packaging which I don't have. I really hope PCS have kept a note of this if I need it.

I enquired with PCS but I don't think they really understood the question as they said the years don't stack and it doesn't add up to 4 (first year with them, second and third with the manufacturer but still via PCS).

Anyone had success confirming a 4 year warranty?

There are 2 warranties.

PCS warranty that gives you access to their support

Manufacturer's warranty which is also in play.

So at any time you can apply for either

No, Gigabyte require the serial number and the 'check number' of the graphics card in order to register the card. It appears this is an additional 4 digit identifier.

The serial number I have on a label on the actual unit. The check number I don't have. I believe this is on the original packaging and I really hope PCS will be able to provide this to me.

These are not Consumer product, they're OEM, so they don't come in the normal boxes that consumers get.

Where is it it's asking for this Check number? Have you got a link? I can't find any mention anywhere on the gigabyte website or anywhere else?

Came across this, it doesn't look like this relates to OEM product, only consumer ones, I'm not sure you'd be able to get extended warranty on an OEM card

@GIGA-Man Hey Giga-man, Is there anyway to get a Gigabyte mobo and gpu check number if you dont have the boxes? I bought a system with gigabyte products so I have the serial and EAN numbers, but in order to register the hardware with gigabyte support you need a check number which I dont have...

Thanks for the advice about OEM/consumer, this may be the answer. I'm awaiting a response from Gigabyte on this, so that should be the definitive answer. It's all just because I got the advert in the box about the 4 year warranty - I wasn't expecting it but I want to fully explore it just in case I can make use of it. My second to last graphics card was a Nvidia GTX 480 from PCS which died after 3.5 years!!

Yeah, absolutely.

PCS should be able to confirm if it's an OEM part and gigabyte will be able to confirm if OEM parts are covered.

I had trouble registering mine. I originally had a Zotac RTX 3080 I had issues with it. I RMA my card back to PCs. They sent me another one out. GIGABYTE OC. It came in the original box and all original package. I Tried to register and wouldn't let me.
