Budget is around 5.3k

Which brand is the best for the 5090? And what's the best placement for the CPU AIO, top or front?

Thanks.

Please have a quick read of the above, and then could you confirm your budget, and provide the config link. There are a few areas I would look to change, but the above information will help direct that.

£5.3k is definitely a have-it-all budget, I wish I had that much to spend on a PC!

That being said, just because you can afford to max everything out doesn't necessarily mean it's worthwhile to do so. It's your money, feel free to spend it how you wish, but the below is how I would spend that budget in your shoes.

Case
be quiet! SHADOW BASE 800 FX GAMING CASE
Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D Eight Core CPU (Up to 5.2GHz/104MB w/3D V-CACHE/AM5)
Motherboard
GIGABYTE X870E AORUS ELITE WIFI7 (AM5, DDR5, M.2 PCIe 5.0, Wi-Fi 7) £200 cheaper with no performance loss for gaming
Memory (RAM)
32GB Corsair DOMINATOR TITANIUM DDR5 6400MHz CL32 (2 x 16GB) KIT Unless you're playing MSFS 32GB is ample, this will be nicely tuned to 6000MHz CL30 to hit the sweet spot for AMD CPUs
Graphics Card
32GB ZOTAC GEFORCE RTX 5090 SOLID - HDMI, 3 x DP The 5090 is a monster, you might get eke out a few extra percent with certain models, but in my shoes I wouldn't spend an extra £500 for the MSI model for instance
1st M.2 SSD Drive
512GB SOLIDIGM P44 PRO GEN 4 M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 7000MB/sR, 4700MB/sW) Rejigged for a smaller primary drive, and a nice big drive for games and other files. There have been a few issues reported with the Samsung SSDs so we tend to avoid those.
1st M.2 SSD Drive
4TB CORSAIR MP600 PRO NH NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD (up to 7000 MB/R, 6500 MB/W)
Power Supply
CORSAIR 1200W HXi SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® PLATINUM V2
Power Cable
1 x 1.5 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead, 1.0mm Core)
Processor Cooling
CORSAIR ICUE LINK TITAN 360 RX RGB HIGH PERFORMANCE CPU COOLER Recommend top mounting this
Thermal Paste
STANDARD THERMAL PASTE FOR SUFFICIENT COOLING Cooler comes with premium paste so Arctic paste isn't needed
Sound Card
ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD) Onboard sound is very good these days so you don't need to spend extra on this
Network Card
ONBOARD 2.5Gbe LAN PORT
Wireless Network Card
NONE OR ONBOARD Wi-Fi (MOTHERBOARD DEPENDENT)
USB/Thunderbolt Options
MIN. 2 x USB 3.0 & 2 x USB 2.0 PORTS @ BACK PANEL + MIN. 2 FRONT PORTS

Thanks for the input. I noticed you changed the PSU to 1000W in your link. Would you recommend going with that instead of 1200W?

Been saving up my money for over 3 years now to afford this. No holidays!

Not sure how that's happened, looks like I did keep the 1200W in the spec above, might be transferred from another build. For this sort of budget, and for the GPU you are looking to get and upgrade from during the lifetime of this build, 1200W+ is definitely the way to go.

The budget is smashing and the 5090 is the best. With your usage and monitor in mind I would opt for the 5080 and save a ton though. You can likely get the 5080 and the next gen 6080 for the same price as this gen's 5090. You're absolutely on the edge of what's possible, but after a day or 2 of ooooo and ahhhh... you're not going to notice one blind bit of difference between the cards.

Above build is mega though. Everyone would want such a rig.
