Hi guys, this is the build I am thinking of going with once the 7800x3d comes in stock. I already have a 6800xt ready to be fitted on arrival. This is my first time spending a good amount on a PC so want to get people opinions. I have built this with future proofing in mind hence the 1000w power supply for further upgrades in a few years time. Any changes or recommendations would be great!!

What's it for?

What make and model monitor are you pairing it with?

What's your max budget?
Going to be used mainly for gaming.

currently have an old asus 1080p monitor but going to be getting a second 1440p 165hz monitor soon just don't know what model yet.

as far as budget i'm looking to stay around £1500 as i have already spent £500 on a graphics card and i know a good spec monitor is going to be expensive

To get that build in spec, I've rebalanced it with notes, this is the way to get it within reach of budget:

Case
CORSAIR iCUE 465X RGB GAMING CASE - Need a larger case to accommodate cooler, this is the only one that will fit the PSU at lowest budget
Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 9 7900X 12 Core CPU (4.7GHz-5.6GHz/76MB CACHE/AM5) - Nearer to the cost of the 7800X3D, actually slightly under
Motherboard
ASUS® TUF GAMING B650-PLUS WIFI (DDR5, USB 3.2, 6Gb/s)
Memory (RAM)
32GB Corsair VENGEANCE RGB DDR5 6000MHz (2 x 16GB) AMD - Ryzen requires fast RAM, this is the sweetspot
Graphics Card
NONE, I ALREADY HAVE A GRAPHICS CARD
1st M.2 SSD Drive
500GB SEAGATE FIRECUDA 530 GEN 4 PCIe NVMe (up to 7000MB/R, 3000MB/W) - You don't want a singular drive, always split the OS and game drive
1st M.2 SSD Drive
2TB CORSAIR FORCE MP600 NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD (up to 4950 MB/R, 4000 MB/W) - dedicated game drive, so many games these days are over 100Gb
Power Supply
CORSAIR 1000W RMe SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS GOLD, ULTRA QUIET
Power Cable
1 x 1.5 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead, 1.0mm Core)
Processor Cooling
CORSAIR iCUE H100i ELITE RGB High Performance CPU Cooler - really the minimum I'd put on this chip to maintain boosts.
Thermal Paste
STANDARD THERMAL PASTE FOR SUFFICIENT COOLING
Sound Card
ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)
Network Card
10/100/1000 GIGABIT LAN PORT
USB/Thunderbolt Options
MIN. 2 x USB 3.0 & 2 x USB 2.0 PORTS @ BACK PANEL + MIN. 2 FRONT PORTS

Thank you for this mate was very useful. will probably end up getting an operating system anyway as i plan to give my other pc away to family members but I like the recommendation with the SSD's. I was also considering the 7900x but from the benchmarks I have seen the 7800x3d performs a lot better for gaming so I'm still not sure (I understand you probably put it in too match the price of the 7800x3d for the budget).

Yes, I would absolutely recommend the 7800x3D, it's undoubtedly the chip to get for gaming. The 7900x was merely a placeholder as is nearer the cost.

I will likely go with your build, probably adding one extra fan as it is only bit extra but I would like the extra exhaust. I'm not the biggest fan of the case but I know that anything else that can do the same job is likely to cost a lot more probably without the addition of the corsair fans. Just hope I can get the 7800X3D on launch

MOST VALUED CONTRIBUTOR
You don't need the extra fan (this coming from someone who has a pathological need for a fan at the rear!)...however, if you really feel the need, then I'd skip the fans PCS offer and pick up something like a Noctua NF-A12x25....a bit expensive at £30 but it is one of the best fans out there and is miles better than the Thermaltake PCS offer (don't go near the basic cheap fans)
I love a Noctua fan (I have three in my system, two NF-A14s on the front and an NF-A15 on the cooler) but I wouldn't go Noctua for this purpose. You can get something much cheaper: an Arctic P12 for under a tenner would be fine, or at a push the be Quiet! Pure Wings fan. Both are better than the Thermaltake AIUI.
