Advice and suggestion on building a gaming PC (budget ~£1200)

Hi all, I am looking to build my first gaming PC but struggle to understand how to make the best use with my budge.

normally play league of legends and world of warship on my laptop, tried Tarkov but it’s a real struggle on my MSI GP62 MVR.

it would be great if I can play Tarkov in medium to high specs within this budget.

please can someone suggest a build for me? It would be much appreciated.

the budget is just for the tower, can add around 200£ on top for the monitor.

Hey there, these days a £1200 isn't the greatest for a PC as prices are at a massive high due to high demand and low supply. NVIDIA is also half way through a refresh of their cards so don't have many entry level cards available. Luckily they're releasing the 3060 on the 25th which should be a good fit for your budget, although how quickly PCS gets their hands on, and how many we won't really know. If you're able to take the copy of Windows from your laptop we could definitely make something work with the 3060 card. Also if you're able to wait a few months, prices should hopefully fall and you'll get more for your money!

The 3060 is looking at coming in at over £400 now (originally meant to be under £300). A 2060 super build is a potential for £1200. I’ll have a check and see if i can spec one up

Unfortunately 2060s isn’t in stock until 08/04/21. You may be able to pick up a 3060 yourself from a retailer before then.

If you plan on doing 1080p gaming, then I’d recommend you go for an RTX 2060S build alongside an MSI Optix G24 Series monitor (1080p, 144hz, 1ms and 24”) which comes in at £170.

They should be restocking on the 2060S shouldnt they? Or is that it, no more 20 series cards coming in stock

I believe they are restocking, but it will go eventually, as all efforts of production, will move to 3000 series

I’m assuming later this year once maybe the 3050 comes out? They’ll move to producing 30 series cards only, and it’ll be the end of the 20 series cards

I’d imagine they have stopped making them by now, or are at the end of the process. The 3060 launches soon, but to grab one, you’ll need to use stockinformers discord bot for notifications
