Advice on RMA

Hello everyone!

I have recently had a PC returned following an RMA for the GPU/Cooler, no issues with PCS amazing service and a quick turn around, however the RMAd GPU is having some issues, I currently have a 24GB AMD RADEON™ RX 7900 XTX, however due to the multiple issues with this GPU (previous and this new one) PC Specialist have advised they would like to swap this out and also offered it to be replaced with a 16GB 4080 Super.

I am currently doing some research in regards to the 4080S vs the 7900 XTX, however I just wanted everyones opinions, looking online the 7900 XTX seems to have better FPS on most games, but the 4080S does better in ray tracing, which isn't something that Im that interested in, I just want a nice high performing GPU that keeps nice and cool, and is somewhat future proof.

Thank you in advance!

They'll trade blows in gaming tbh. Other than benchmark metrics and FPS charts you won't see any visual difference between them while gaming.

If you switch on Ray Tracing it's a no contest. If you want to do any content creation, it's a no contest.

If you aren't being asked for any more money I would probably opt for the 4080 Super. I just prefer them. I want to want the AMD offerings but, for me, they're still not quite there. The party trick is their bang for their buck. You tend to get more performance for your £, but if you aren't getting charged any more then the 4080S is a good option.

Hi Scott, cheers for the reply!

So basically, either one is fine and not much difference, unless of course you get in ray tracing etc.

Perfect Scott, I can definitely appreciate that, I just always like to weigh the pros/cons before making any decisions.

@Scott Hi Scott, They are now looking to offer me a 4090, not free, but have offered a large credit towards it. If this is something I would consider, do you think my current setup would be fine with the 4090 being added? or would any parts need upgrading in your opinion.

I am just waiting on them letting me know the price of the 4090, so I can determine, if it's actually worth the amount I would need to put towards it.

Thanks in advance!

The case should certainly accomodate the card physically and for airflow.

The PSU is on the nose, but should be fine, it's the lowest we'd recommend at this level but should cover you fine.

What are your current specs? Can you copy and paste them from the orders page?
Hi Scoped, sorry, I can't access my PCS account atm, as It is saying, I have the wrong password! but my specs should be in my Signature underneath.

The main PCS account and the forum have different account details, they’re separate websites

I know, it's super weird, I change my forum password, but then my main account password is no longer recognized and vica versa.

Either I'm an idiot or I need to stop using Chrome! :ROFLMAO:

Chrome is satan's browser, most people stopped using it around 10 years ago, it's absolutely dreadful

If you're storing passwords in the browser, it won't recognise the difference between the main PCS website and the forum as it's simply an adendum to the main website address of www.pcspecialist.co.uk /forums

Never use browser password managers is security number 1
