Here is a spec I configured that will be mainly used for gaming and sometimes work- can anyone offer some advice or opinions on this?

Thank you!

The monitor will be either an ASUS PG258Q 240Hz G-Sync Monitor or Alienware AW2518H 240 Hz G-Sync Monitor.

Primarily gaming I would probably choose the 9700k over the 9900k. Only benefit of the 9900k is threads for multi-tasking and sometimes streaming. If you need the cores/threads I would look to the AMD 3700X unless that few % FPS is really going to make all the odds.

For the case have a look at the Corsair RGB options (460x/570x)
The ROG Strix boards are often overpriced. For Intel the Aorus Pro is often the best choice, if you want the absolute best go with the Master (£££s)
RAM I would select 3200mhz over 3000mhz.... because faster.
The Intel M2 drive isn't the best. If you're looking for budget go with the Adata SX6000. If you want high end look at the WD Black or Samsung 970.
For the PSU I would always aim for at least a TXm series. With high end I often suggest the RMx as they are just better. If you call PCS they have been known to offer lower wattage RMx PSUs where requested.

The rest looks fine.

Thanks for the help!

I don't mind the case for now so I'll keep that.

Will that ROG Strix board still be ok? and the 3000MHz ram?

To be honest the intel m2 drive was an accidental amendment but it didn't cost anything so I didn't mind.
Also is the Power Supply bad/insufficient or will it need upgrading?

No worries

It wasn't so much "minding" the case that I was suggesting it for. More the fact that it's not great, and fugly to boot.

The ROG Strix is a great motherboard. It's just a huge waste of money.
3000mhz of RAM is fine too..... just not as good as 3200mhz for very little money.
The M2 drive you selected isn't great, so I selected a better one.
The wattage of the power supply isn't the issue, it's more the quality. When building a premium system it's often best to utilise a premium base of components. Case, PSU and peripherals should always be bought with longevity and future in mind. The rest.... doesn't really matter so much as tech moves so fast. I've had my RM PSU for almost 10 years now, still running great.

Not sure if something is being lost in translation but I was offering advice on better components for your money. It's entirely up to you how you interpret what I'm giving you though :)

Thanks for the help! I went with the case just off videos I saw on youtube and some positive reviews- hence why I said I said I don't mind it didn't mean to write off the advice.

I upgraded the RAM to 3200MHz and changed the M2 drive and PSU to a TXm series. Thanks for the help!
