AMD 5000 Series are in the Configurator

So how do these appear in the configurater when you want to amend later today.
They aren't currently showing on mine, even in a grayed out stage.

I'm not really sure how it works. Are all the other options there when you try to amend your order? If they are, it may be worthwhile going on the live-chat with PCS to see what's what :)

It may be they don't go live until 14:00 as with other releases recently

I'm in chat now with then and getting confirmation.
Hopefully they just pop up but like I said if you do a new build they show up but on the amend order they aren't currently
Live chat ended with no answers, emailing me any confirmation they get, but looks like I will just have to see what happens at 2pm

I hope you're able to figure it out. The new CPUs are there in my Amend Order screen, but are obviously greyed out until 2pm.

Which configurator did you order from? If it's the Home/Office PC one then they won't be in there.

I wonder if the lack of them in the Liquid series configurator is related to all Liquid CPUs being overclocked versions...maybe they are only allowing non-overclocked versions to begin with, maybe they don't know how overclocks will affect things

This is exactly how it goes. They need to go through testing so that they can report a reasonable "Up to" and check for stability errors. It may even take longer at the moment given reduced staffing with increased demand. Everyone will be busy building and testing required PCs, rather than R&D (presumption, not assertion).

Possibly, I emailed them last week if it was ok to swap and they said it was fine, just amend the order on the 5th I was told.

Why is that?
The custom water cooled PC was one of the main draws for me.

If it's what you want then there's no reason not to get it. They're just ludicrously expensive for no gains to be had. They are a pain to maintain correctly and the resale value on them is nil.

I pondered for years about building one but I've managed to avoid that little devil on my shoulder, and that's coming from a complete tech nutter.

It's possible they haven't scrutenised your build to see the limitations. On the face of it swapping out a current gen chip with a next gen chip with all supporting hardware is very straight forward.

It's not the case when R&D needs done for the system though, unfortunately.

Thats fine, I like it to look as good as it performs.
Thanks for the above answers anyway for the OC probably the reason why they aren't there at launch.

Personally, I think the Corsair Obsidian 500D SE case combined with the H115i RGB Platinum cooler rivals any liquid build for looks....I think the huge goldfish tank reservoirs look ugly, not to mention the drainpipe size pipes. But then I have never been known to have anything resembling a sense of taste or style

I honestly think that's been my saving grace. With so many RGB options and elements available off the shelf now there is just no need to go for a custom loop kit to get that look.

When I was giving my mind treats and considering one, it was the only way to have your rig look properly cool. Everything else was bland and plasticy with no simple solutions for lighting effects.

When I saw the first 500D SE fully lit up with H115i Platinum and ML fans throughout, it just blew me away. Much more than any CL kit ever has (With the exception of the PC in the fish tank, that's still UP there).

A lad I work with buggered his rig when his liquid setup had a mishap, was not cheap.

like many I have considered it, but closed loop gives pretty much same.

bung in some bling and similar aesthetic.

I do like the 500D SE as a case (cooling is great) and for looks.

best move I made was taking advice and going with 500D SE with the 115i Platinum.

I can (if so desired) add extra bling LED’s but I prefer subtle.

The configurator worked perfectly for me and I was able to amend my order. Given that the 5950 is still cheaper than the 3950, I also swapped my M.2 drive and all of that only costs £17!

Item 1Amendments Charge: £0.00
Item 2Change to 1TB SAMSUNG 980 PRO M.2, PCIe NVMe (up to 7000MB/R, 5000MB/W) from 1TB SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS M.2, PCIe NVMe (up to 3500MB/R, 3300MB/W)
Item 3Change to AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16 Core CPU (3.4GHz-4.9GHz/72MB CACHE/AM4) from AMD Ryzen 9 3950X 16 Core CPU (3.5GHz-4.7GHz/73MB CACHE/AM4)

Just amended my 3600xt to the 5600x (£32 extra).

Thought I might have to go up to the 5800x as the 5600x kept saying try again after 2pm (even though the other 5000 series CPUs were happily being accepted to my amendment).

Kept trying and eventually it accepted it - but then told me the PSU I had was now overpowered...so I assume the 5600x is less hungry than the 3600xt too (y)

Now just got to wait to see whether it'll be an all-AMD system with a change to a RX6800XT GPU later in the month, or if the RTX3080 I've got on there currently comes into stock (or maybe the 3080ti will be available first) :censored:

I managed to get one, they appeared on in the configurator. I didn't look until just now so will be at the back of the queue but I'm waiting on the 3080 anyway and may swap to a 6800xt depending on how things go between now and the 18th.
5900X OC version I have updated too.
