Recently, I tried to order a gaming pc on finance but was declined, i paid like £240 as an authorization payment before the finance, which they took, does anyone know when ill get a refund on this, as when they redirected me they said the money wasn't taken?
You would need to speak or, most likely, the finance company. It would also be worth having the transaction details from your bank account to hand. This is just a PCS users site, they do look in but not all the time.
It can take a few working days at least for the money to become available again to you.
As far as I know the money isn't actually taken but a marker is put on it that reserves it for the finance company, and it takes a few days for that marker to be removed - as far as I know this is how stuff like this works and is how the banks do it - of course I could be wrong.
Good explanation Rakk, that is certainly one method. The majority of normal finance actions take about three days to complete but are registered immediately. In the case of refunds it can be longer, as although it has not been taken it is also no longer available to the person whose account it it, so has to be "returned", this could easily double the time.
Depending on the back you can see any pending payments, usually if these are not claimed they will be returned to your account within 7 days.
If you need it sooner you will need to contact the finance company and the bank to get it released.
Funny enough I have one on my account at the moment with Halifax so see a screenshot below.
