I'll probably be on this evening guys, unless

1 - the missus decides she wants to go out for a meal.. cant turn good food and drink down.. that would be sacrilege.
2 - if my ping is poor, cause other family members on the net. :(

I'll most likely be on though :)

Sounds good buddy, I'll probably hop on as well for a few hours. You got mics or have you been playing silent? x)

I should be able to make an hour or two tonight unless something comes up, which it normally does. Been playing silent, although if I get the house to myself Saturday I may mic up.

This may seem like a really stupid question but how does one "mic up" is it as easy as Xbox Live?

Not a stupid question at all, they decided to scrap VOIP from the PC Version for some bizzare reason. Like Booz said you can either use Steam chat which can be a bit hit and miss quality-wise as I don't think it has like background noise cancelling, etc. Other way would be to host a Teamspeak or Ventrilo server (or something similar) and invite people to it. Fairly sure you can do it for free if it's for leisure use but I've never personally done it before!

Thanks Grimezy, much appreciated, i'll have a look when i get home.

I see when you use the Battlefield Web Server thing that there is options to chat with the group/team but havent tried it out yet.

Yea I heard about that too, apparently that's hit and miss as well although I'm fairly sure it's quite a new feature.

Just had a quick look on Teamspeak website and from what I understand it's free for a 16 slot server. Will have to look when I get home properly! I probably wouldn't be the best person to host one if it requires a decent internet connection or anything though!

I wouldn't worry too much about voice comms while playing anyway, we've managed OK so far without it.

Alternatively you could use Skype; I use it all the time and even with 6 people its fine although never had more than that (that I can think of). I'd say it's the best non-dedicated server VoIP however you will have to add each other as friends.

Pfft... Hush your noise, how are we meant to become the world's best platoon with that attitude? Nah I know voip isn't necessary but it does make things a bit easier if there's a few of you in a squad!

Ahh yes, I used to use Skype as well actually! Good shout.

if you're in a squad press L in games to talk to that squad, K to talk to the team, or J or talk to both teams.

Then its a good idea to press H so the chat says up in the top left corner, so you dont miss any chat from team mates.

Anyone know if origin has a group chat feature like steam?

Oh yeah it does, I rarely voice comm though as on a night the kids are asleep and the missus is watching the box so i just stay silent. They're supposed to be out Saturday so I can get loud then for a change.
