Im quite bad with revives, i will run around reviving everyone. Even if its in line of fire and people have said not too, then if you dont bother they get annoyed.

I've seen me come first in a 64 player match only reviving.

One of the annoyances I have with being revived is you have no say in the matter. You can be revived and then killed again by the same enemy and there is nothing you can do about it! I've heard rumours that BF4 will have changes such as a charge time on the defibs before you can use them and the ability to properly decline revives.

If you get revived you go into a 'Last Stand' type mode where if you get killed it won't count as another death. As far as I know it only counts as a death once you respawn hence why the scoreboard only updates when you're back alive (rather than cod being instant).

I personally try popping off a few with my pistol in last stand, you're quite hard to see especially if there's a few bodies around you on the floor and people don't expect it.

Revives are frustrating though, we were holding off the roof last night and the other team must have been so annoyed. They had no chance to get up to us as we were immediately reviving everybody... Not exactly realistic.

I always prefer to not be revived. People have a habit of either reviving me in the middle of crossfire, or when I want to change something in the loadout. :D

I'm the same with support, and ammo boxes. Just throw them at everyone. I've been on some maps where people are closed in by the other team, so I just place the box near five or so players and end up racking about 600 points from consecutive resupplying until it's gets blown up by a grenade, or break through the other team.

I should probably start showing the other classes more attention. Support I've probably given 99% of my time to when playing, all the rest are very minimal in how much they've been used.

My second biggest hate on this game is the muppets who you are stood next to spamming q to say you need ammo or health and they ignore you. My biggest is the medics who ignore you until you die and then revive you the second you die.

I can't imagine why you would choose a class and then ignore the bit that scores you the most points. The other day I got 46 resupply ribbons (that's at least 322 resupplies) in a single game. Each resupply gave me at least 20 points, more if it was a squad mate. So that got me 6440 points + however many points you get for ribbons as well.

You could try recon, and work ya well up to some of the personal defense weapons. Spam down a motion detector, and you get loads of points from that too!

sorry guys completely rage quit tonight... that endgame server was awful! I got in a tank, drove 200meters then got nailed by a hele. I got in a hele then within seconds of take off, nailed by same hele who killed me before. Stick to on foot, nailed by tanks and apc's. That just isnt fun.

I did a rage quit last night too on CQ, within three minutes of me joining the game the same bloke killed me six times. No matter where I spawned he was there and none of my shots took his health down, I'm positive I at least hit him a few times but his health always said 100% when I died. Did my head in.

It wasn't that Poety2 bloke was it on the 32 player cqc server? I was certain there was something dodgy about him, not many people nemesis me 6-1 :\

Me and Ben carried on for a bit last night and played a few vehicle maps, some of them were good fun, I think you just have to approach them with a different mindset of not being a constant firefight at close quarters. I was getting like 15 kills instead of 60 kills in a full game but those 15 kills felt earned. Servers that just have ridiculously good pilots and stuff on are just frustrating though.

I am slightly concerned about the lack of servers to choose from.. There literally are none that play any of the original maps. How can new people play the game if they don't have premium unless they want to play conquest large of Caspien Border and Kharg Island for days on end?!

One good thing happened last night, I was crouching down with my LMG on bipod, got up and turned and there was a bloke behind me ready to knife me so I shot him in the face. Really enjoyed that.

I think I'm close to calling it quits, on the last 16 games I've played, I've Lost 13 of them badly. Trying to find a server that is just normal BF3 maps is impossible. Was on a "pathfinder 3" rush server then, the balancing was awful! Attackers had hele's and apc's. The defenders actually had nothing at all! I know you can say, "oh well just put a few rpg's in the APC's". But its near impossible when one team has such a large advantage over the other. It never used to be like this, every server had an even spread of vehicles and ranked players on each team.

Think we should go back to BF:BC2. That actually used to be tactical. BF3 has tried too much to be like Cod just with more players.

You don't have to be, press E to go back to the loadout screen.

Oh, yeah I know. But a few times I've been about to hit the loadout button, or just pressed, to be suddenly dragged back in to the game. :/

I use it automatically usually. When I first started as support, someone was spamming Q for ammo, and I had no clue. Haha. But now, people don't really get the chance to need the ammo to ask for it, if someones near and not at the very moment running off, blocked in, or a group of my team, I almost always automatically try and throw one near, and in a safe place if there is one.

Speaking of knife kills, anyone aware if there is a way to be resistant to the instant kill from it?

Just wondering because a few times I've ran to people who are unaware, back turned to me, and I hit the knife button but it doesn't always do the stealth kill. I thought it may have been I was a little bit too far the first couple of times, but I've practically been standing on top them a few other times. :D Unless lag is causing it, since sometimes I can run toward someone, to find my connection has delayed the action and I get thrown back a few paces.

I ended up changing the knife slash to the hash key, as with Tomb Raider and the weapon Lara has, since when I'm playing other games for a while I tend to forget the buttons easily for others, so I try to make the same actions have the same mapped buttons in other games where possible.

I'm up for that if people still play it. Was a much better game, none of this lying down rubbish or kill/death ratio's (worst addition to bf3 because it makes people self conscious and stop playing the objective if they are doing bad). Also although the knifing is a bit dodgy on bc2 it's still better than not being bang on behind them, only wounding them and then getting turned on and killed. Knife was my first platinum on xbox on bc2 :)

What's the quick knife key so you can steal dog tags? F?

It is 'F' for a knife attack, but I think you have to hold it down for a short while to take the tags. I've actually mapped an 'F' macro to my mouse scroll wheel, so a scroll up, scroll down or a click will try for a knife kill.

I don't think so - it is pretty much a guaranteed kill. I read somewhere that BF4 will introduce a knife block move, but only from frontal attacks. Knife attacks from behind will remain unstoppable.

I tend not to play on maps with large number of vehicles for the same reasons - it just starts feeling unbalanced and I end up getting killed all the time. Generally I stick to set of maps and game types I enjoy and add as favourites any servers I have fun on. I'm currently getting back into CTF maps, but also play TDM and Conquest (on the smaller maps with no vehicles). I'll copy the links for my favourite servers later tonight.

well that was crap. Had a few games then, two of which were on the usual 64man cq server. There was a hacker in both games, over 200 kills in both games.

http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/user/D3sigual/

thats him, you may have to be logged in battlelog to view it though. I and many others reported him, but it doesn't actually do anything just send a message to someone (Dice i'm presuming).I did manage to kill the guy, took a full 50 rounds from a p90 most of which landed at point blank range! feel free to report his profile, I reported him as a cheat but can only do it once even if hes cheating multiple times in as many games as he likes.

I dont get it, the games been out nearly two years and STILL hackers are all over it unchallenged. It completely ruins the game for everyone, Unless you are on the winning team of course, but you aint always going to be on that team.

I played a few games this weekend on different servers and really enjoyed it to be honest. Found a City server that swapped between rush and conquest which was pretty good, tough but good. Also got on another server which changed the map to Operation Firestorm on Conquest Large at which point I almost quit straight away... stuck it out, got in a tank, finished top with 14 kills and 2 deaths. Had a few more games and really enjoyed it, even if I wasn't in a tank there was plenty going on infantry-wise.

I think they've made it really difficult to adjust between servers though, going from 64 player CQC carnage is just way too different to 64 player Conquest Large. On CQC servers I expect to get 50+ kills, on big maps I'm happy with anything over 10.

Battlefield always used to be about big map tactics, they really have tried to get it as close as CoD as possible now..
