App Made Too Many Attempts error?

I'm not using powershell, and I've updated the wifi drivers from the asus website.

When you say "PasswordLESS", is that the same as Windows Hello with a pin instead of a password? If not, I don't think I've got PasswordLESS set up.
No, it's not related to windows, it's related to your MFA setup on your microsoft account

Also...Here's all the apps that are installed so far...I don't think there is anything in here that wouldn't have been installed by windows? Anything I should remove?

Oh, Do you mean via the authentication app? That I do have set up. I think! I have the microsoft app set up so that it pings me to approve sign-in requests via confirming a number on the screen.

Yeah, that all looks good.

No, that's the app that approves your MFA requests.

You set your MFA type in your microsoft account under security. If it's passwordless, IMHO it's not worth it, I would definitely disable that for now, likely until Windows 12 is released. There's loads of issues with it, SMB doesn't support it, so any kind of NAS drive or remote connections like RDP won't work, there's loads of other associated issues with it also. For now, it's just not caught up and with the way TV's and things can all interconnect, it may cause more problems than it solves.

If you've already got it set up, that should then be requesting MFA when you sign in with your account to windows, if you're not getting the MFA, it suggests your MFA isn't working properly and you'd need to set it up again.

Just turned it off and rebooted...This could be a false dawn so I'll have to keep an eye on it, but...

Seems to have possibly resolved the issue.

It didn't give me an option to. I went into the app section where the error occurs and there it was. It didn't prompt me.

Interestingly though...The time on the error says 18:44. It's 19:47 now, was probably 19:44 when the error occurred. I've just checked my pc clock and the time is right and is also auto updating with windows.

Is it showing me a previous error or could it be tied to the clock differential?

Just try connecting your microsoft account. You should then get an MFA request, until that's accepted the microsoft account isn't signed in and will time out after about 30 seconds, once it times out it will show that error.

You can try to reset the windows store but I'm not certain if that's actually connected yet, perhaps it is stuck in some sort of loop though since we've removed passwordless

Open Powershell as administrator and type:

wsreset

Oh, it could well be an old alert perhaps. I'd do the windows store reset anyway.

Then you need to be sure your microsoft account is properly logged in in windows with MFA accepted.

Did you get MFA properly when you went onto your account to disable passwordless?

I've just rebooted again to see if the time changed...it did.

And it's still an hour behind. So unless the time is being taken direct from Microsoft and not taking into account British Summer Time adjustments, I'm assuming there is an connection with the pc times? I've reset M/Store just in case, no effect.

I honestly can't remember if it prompted me when switching off passwordless. And my recent activity doesn't appear to breakdown by time to check...

What I can remember is, I switch off passwordless, it asked me to create a new password. I created the password and a notification popped up on my phone to say I had created as new password...just can't remember if it came up with mfa or not.

If you've changed password you'd need to log into the Authenticator with that new password, until you do that it won't be receiving any MFA requests (as it's not connected to your account anymore)

I take it you've used MFA before and are used to it?
