Im crashing about 2-7 times when i play. Ive crashed up to 4 times in 1 single server or map when i was playing with nmebown which was very frustrating, i ended up joining him again by the usual join button which is how i know this freezing/crashing is there lol.

I may try the beta drivers and see if same results happen

Ive noticed the beta drivers make a massive difference. Not sure exactly what theyve done btu my cards seem to work less hard.

have you tried it on other games frenchy? or is this performance increase only noticeable or effective when playing bf3 beta?

only other game ive played is f1 2011, and seems to work less hard on that too, although it may just be me thinking that

Anyone else starting to get annoyed with all the "quick scoping" Its more like black ops with big maps than bf2.

I dont have a problem with it, i hate cod because of it but I honestly havent found a problem with it at all in bf3, I think its pretty well balanced every match ive played

Every game i play is loaded with snipers, doing the quick scoping thing. Everything about cod I dislike. Nothing like bf2, pretty disappointed really

i knew they would develop it too much like CoD, soon they will be charging more for less and producing half a game, its what made CoD good, but thats what is making CoD bad now

I gotta completely disagree, I dont think its anything like cod at all. Plays much better than cod and I actually think its pretty similar to bf2, its just the map thats different really, but once oyu get onto the bigger maps like caspian itll feel more like bf2. They know that to deliver a game thats going ot get the audience thye need, they need to have maps that cater for all styles of gameplay not just old fashioned battlefield. Nothing wrong with adding to a game which is all theyve done really. I again dont really see hwo you can judge the game at all, as theyve said it will change a lot from beta to release, thigns always do, so wait to judge it till it comes out.

i cant see how it can change that much in a month when its been developed for the past god knows how many years, they took a big risk releasing the beta so late and should have been at that stage july/august at the latest, leaving them plenty of time

I will still be buying bf3 and mw3.

BF2 was awesome teamplay, so easy to work as a team/squad and it worked really really well. I know this is a beta and a small map. I will like you say have to wait till release to judge it properly, but first impressions do count. I just hope they get rid of that stupid glare with the optics. I also hope they chin off this pants game browser, I don't understand why they chose this over a traditional in game menu.

What is it with the continuing statements about how they have left it too late? As ive said before, the majority of people posting here dont have a clue about software life cycles, how the game is coded, number of people working in the teams etc. Balancing weapons, teams, time to aim down a scope, respawn times, number of particular class per team etc etc can all be done very quickly, most games are coded with these sorts of changes in mind, changing them is relatively simple. They could very easily make drastic changes to the game before release. Until people actually know what is involved in coding a game please dont make such silly comments.

I dont pretend to understand all the complexities behind making a game that size, however from my experience as a software developer I know how much a bit of software can be changed in relatively little time. Half the people in this thread could give me as much info on developing a game as they could flying a jumbo jet, yet I dont see any of you commenting on how a pilot cant possibly make a landing in a 30mph crosswind. Its honestly ridiculous making statements like that. Fair enough have opinions on the game as it is, after all thats the point of the Beta, but im pretty sure a company such as DICE and publishing company like EA know exactly what theyre doing.

I actually think the game browser is fantastic, much much better than any in game browser could be. For a start there is the potential for customising information that appears on the screen at a later date, using HTML5 and CSS3 will allow a great deal of functionality through the website too. The fact you can have the game load while your doing other stuff too and once its ready to spawn you just hit "goto game" is brilliant, its quick, it works every time (for me anyway), I have instant access to all the stats I want rather than having to navigate menus in a game.

Honestly I think its a fantastic move by DICE to use this browser.

I don't like it, its crashes far too much, however, I assume that's because its a beta.

*just so you know i am fully aware of what goes in coding wise and know that it is only small changes etc that may only take a short time, but still, if they have to make any drastic changes coding wise, then they are screwed, for all you know they may have to completely rewrite half the code for the mp (obviously highly unlikely) and they will have left no time

like the game brwoser thingy people are talking about, i imagine that would take a reasonable amount of time compared to changing the zoom in time on a scope

Um soryy Wozza, but you are not "fully aware" ive been coding for over 15 years and im still nto "fully aware" of the complexities of code in a game like battleifeld. I am aware of the complexities in my specialist field which is artificial intelligence and agent based simulations, but I cant begin to think of all the complexities in a game like battlefield.

As for the browser, thats easy coding compared to a game, front end anyway. Backend is the same backend they use for the in game stats etc which is the same across all consoles. Frotn end does nto take long to recode, especially as this in the PC's case is completely separated from game code.

I dont think theyve left it too late, I beta tested windows 7 and did a final beta test around about a month and a half before release, they changed so much stuff in it from beta feedback. If they have a lot of people working on the coding, they will have absolutley no trouble changing the game for release. As someone said earlier, the game changed drastically from alpha to beta, and that was a month apart. As for recoding completely, the code is fine, it just has some bugs in it, the beta is not to recode the engine or game as a whole, its to iron out bugs that havent become apparent during development. Bugs are time consuming but dont require a complete rewrite of things like the multiplayer.

what i meant was that i know basically how coding works, a lot more than others anyway, and that certain things that make a big difference may take minutes to change and small unnoticable things like rare bugs, may take hours to sort, its one of the things that interests me into going into programming, different everyday pretty much, none of the same stuff over and over daily like the spreadsheets i seem to be doing everyday in IT :( cant wait to go college to start my programming course :) then off to uni for computer science....
