Best Gaming Monitor

I am looking for a Monitor for my gaming PC and after a week of trying to find it I am thoroughly confused and need help.

I'd like

Size 22 – 26 ish but not to big
Backlit LED
Response time 2ms or less
3D
HDMI and or DVI-D

Budget £200 -£300 may be more for the right one. Oh yes and I like it by Christmas.

Does this monitor exist?

My PC got a AMD PHENOM II X6 1090T (3.20GHz/9MB CACHE/AM3/) - BLACK EDITION processor and a 1GB AMD RADEON™ HD 6870 PCI EXPRESS - DirectX® 11, Eyefinity 4 Capable Graphics Card.

I believe both will support 3D games and I want to make sure my monitor will.

Do the AMD/ATI cards support 3D? I thought that was Nvidia's niche and Eyefinity was AMDs?

The new 6000 series do (not sure about the HD5870 and HD5970), Nvidia have better 3D integration but AMD are making progress. The Argos one you linked doesn't support 3D, is this no longer important?

not for me it isn't for the other guy maybe, I don't really like the idea of 3d gaming if anything I can only imagine it would be more a hinderounce then a help but maybe im wrong?

Oh I didn't read the username, thought that you were the original poster; you really need to get an avatar so I know who I'm talking to!
Well you do lose quite a few frames per second by playing games in 3D mode but it is more immersive I guess, I'm getting a 3D capable monitor but just to raise the refresh rate cap to 120hz, I don't care about gaming in 3D but no more ghosting is nice.

Yes it's more than 1080p but that's due to the dimensions, it should be great with the PC you ordered (I went and found your thread) :D

:D! I might even upgrade gcard to 5870 before they make my pc think its worth £85 more?

I'd just leave it, you'll have pay an extra fee for changing it once it reaches certain points of the production que.

I like your suggestion but no one has it in stock.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks for your interest

quick question... do DVI cables allow you to view in HD? If I get a HD monitor will I need a HDMI cable to be able to utilise it? I only ask because my graphics card (the 460) has DVI and mini-hdmi.

Cheers :)

Nah, DVI displays HD as long as your monitor supports it. DVI and HDMI both send the same signal just that DVI has a different connector.
