Build me a rig!

Afternoon all,

I am looking to use PC Specialist to build me my new Star Citizen rig, I have the following criteria...

Black case with blue LEDs with ideally some sort of side viewing panel (As spaceshippy looking as possible!)

Build the rig around the new Nvidia GTX1080 card

I have £1500 - 2k and want the most future proof rig I can get, without throwing money away at minimal / unnoticeable performance increases and fancy named components.

It will be solely used for gaming.

One additional solid state hard drive, ideally Samgsung 850 EVO for the operating system and Star Citizen.

I am not planning on doing any over clocking, however if the rig had that potential for the future it would be nice. I would only want to go for the maintenance free liquid cooling, if that is an option, if air isn't enough.

Many thanks for your time

Thanks Keynes, i've changed the case to "PCS ALPHA TRION 7622B BLACK CASE" as I like the look with the side viewing panel. Other than that, it's all looking good :)

For your spec I would use any +£40 case. A cheap case is not as good with cooling/cable management as a more expensive one

Agreed about the case. If you want spaceship, try the Corsair Carbide 540. It's an excellent case, and looks like a borg cube. Add LED lighting to taste.

I'd make an argument for the for the 2666MHz RAM at +£8

It's not much more expensive but nets a few more FPS here and there on most games, and with some has a more pronounced effect:

however if the rig had that <overclocking> potential for the future it would be nice
I'd suggest the Noctua air cooler, which is excellent and should enable a decent overclock. Though it is more expensive. Otherwise, the CM212 evo is an option.
