As already said, until your windows config is properly setup, installing icue will be expected to cause issues, that's totally normal.

You haven't configured your windows setup to a point where you're ready to install icue.

Norton breaks windows, I'm sure you've had it installed on other systems previously, it's just garbage, and actually REDUCES protection as well as severely hampering performance.

But you're not hearing any of the feedback so we're gonna have to leave you to it.

Hey I listed everything I did, did you see? What’ve I missed?

I am very much listening to feedback. That last post from ekans (as in the Pokemon?) had no reasoning behind it.

I will try avoiding Norton and stick defender.

I believe the only thing wrong I did the first time was not checking all the windows updates until they no longer showed and selecting my update times. I tried very hard not to do anything wrong a second time so I hope not.

What sort of configurations would cause issues?

Second time around during the clean reinstall:

1. Double checked Bios was correct, EXPO set to off (bios was still up to date)
2. I used a brand new Sandisk USB to re-install windows.
3. All drives were cleared (probably just needed to clear my windows drive but thought I better be safe, the correct drive was picked.
4. After the first failed restart I was distraught obviously and checked everything was in correctly. No luck. I was advised by PC specialist to reset the CMOS then everything was ok so I started again.
5. Everything went well. Checked everything was looking normal.
6. All windows updates were done until it said fully up to date.
7. No optional updates were done as I read in several places it was unnecessary.
8. Desired Windows settings were selected.
9. All relevant and correct drivers were installed from the amd website, all successful restarts.
10. I decided it was safe to start doing things so I turned EXPO on then installed programs so installed Norton, steam and Icue.
11. PC went to sleep and didn't come back. Double checked and the problem was back.
12. Uninstalled Icue. Restarted and had no issues (Thursday evening).
13. I plugged things in other than wired keyboard and mouse (actually just my microphone and wireless aerial thing I think).

I might have missed something off the list but I just double checked a few youtube video (for example HERE). What could I have missed?

This is all the info I think, in the folder below. Strangely I noticed 2 optional updates the other day but there are now none. I defo didn't install them.

But again, this is very odd from a Corsair representative as they should know better.

Your corsair DIMMS are OEM part numbers, so wouldn't be on the QVL, but they are agreed OEM DIMMS for that board as QVLs only list retail part numbers

I'm really concerned you're getting scammed.

Ekans is Snake in reverse from the Metal Gear series. What Pokemon??

The reasoning is based on the experience; I've seen several customers in our forum who were able to resolve their stability/performance issues by simply removing Norton and rebooting the PC.

What’ve might I have missed though please?

It was via the Corsair ticket, I screenshotted it earlier for you, via https://help.corsair.com/

They sent me another 32gb of ram that was apparently on the qvl list, it was defo a legit product and came from corsair, they gave me tracking etc. I’m not gonna turn down some free ram even if he’s made a mistake. Need something to show for all this time I spent.

I mentioned the new ram seemingly solved the issue, even with icue it was restating/sleeping fine but then on two occasions I get a sudden black screen then the same sort of thing, orange dram light etc. The issue seemingly gone again with icue. I might try refitting the ram although it’s odd it’s only with icue again.

Problems with orange dram lighting up does almost solely seem to be an AM5 thing when I look at across Reddit and other forums. I could just uninstall icue or the triggering program like the rest of them and forget about it but I’d like to know for sure it’s not a hardware issue really.
