Can I return this iPad?

I bought an iPad from Tesco last week - I've opened it. There's nothing wrong with it - I'm just not happy with it (probably because it's an iPad) - can I still return it?

Yeah, shouldn't be an issue so long as you repackage it as best as possible and have the receipt and it's within 14 days. Any external seal doesn't matter if it's broken.

This is from their electrical T's&C's (http://www.tesco.com/help/elec/#16):

No Fault with product
If there is no fault with the product, the item(s) must be returned 'as sold' in its original packaging with all components intact within 14 days of receipt.

Probably. If you got it from Tesco Direct (ie online) then definitely) if you bought it in store just take it back and see what they say.

Well it's not the end of the world if they don't. I will probably find a use for it (like when I get my GoPro for instance) - I just wish I'd saved my money.

iPads are exempt from Argos's 30 day no quibble return policy, presumably because of the way Apple package them so you have to ruin the packaging to open it. I don't know what Tesco's policy is like for iPads - you might have a better chance if you break it and say it was broken when you opened it (I'm not advocating this, but I have considered it in the past!).

I usually take the route of saying that it was only through use I could determine weather or not it was suitable, and after initial testing I found it didn't meet my requirements. As said, there's no legal requirement for them to offer a refund, but I've found that they're usually quite receptive, more the supermarkets over high street retailers. I usually go with online retailers these days as they never seem to question a return and are much more responsive to warranty repairs also.

Amazon would accept it even if opened. what is the actual problem you got with it? Find the ipad pretty handy when I am away from my computer

Agreed - I've found supermarkets to be flexible in the past with items I've opened and used.

I've just generally not got the use I was expecting from it. Kept reaching for my phone. A larger tablet would have been better I think. I've also found it quite slow at switching apps etc - my old Surface RT was way better. I'll try take it back and see what they say - if not my mother has said she'll buy it off me.

I should mention that I returned this and got a full refund! Plus I got to keep the 200 or so Clubcard points :)

It was quite easy actually, there were no quibbles, just took it and refunded it. I do worry about data protection - I wiped the iPad before I gave it back, but I know there was probably stuff still left on it that could be retrieved if it got into the right hands! Ah well :)
