Hi there, before we can advise we'll need to know the full spec. A link on how to show us that here. Although, I can already see a number of errors with your build. You have a CPU with intergrated graphics but then a graphics card and the 350W PSU will hardly be able to run that 1660 Super under any sort of load, realisitcally this build could be adjusted a lot. What are your intentions with this PC? Also what's your budget and what monitor will you be using (either make and model or resolution and refresh rate)

Intentions are light gaming. Minecraft ect.

I used a power supply calculator and it all seemed fine and when making the pc on PCS it never came up with an error.

I thought I could just choose to use the 1660 super instead of the intergrated graphics in a setting.

Budget wise, i dont want to be paying more than £810 (i know its a small budget).

I will be using a 60hz monitor

It will probably physically run, but you will never be able to upgrade it, without upgrading the psu, which will cost you over £100.

Also yes, you can turn off integrated graphics and make it run off your gpu

Ok,
By physically run, do you mean run poorly? Im not planning on upgrading for a long time as Im not looking for really good pc just useable for homework and a few games:

Minecraft
Fortnite
Flashing Lights
Ect...

Will the psu be enought to let the 1660 super run ok?

It'll be enough but it won't be a happy PC. And for when you do want to upgrade, you'll have to buy a new PC as just about every part will be a bottleneck. Realisitcally for gaming, it's just not a great build, for a more capable balanced gaming build with a copy of Windows I'd be looking at about £925 minimum in todays market.

No worries

The 350W PSU willl run the 1660 Super, but will be worked hard and near full capacity it's full life, meaning it'll shorten the life of the PSU considerably. If a PSU goes, there's a risk it'll take the rest of the system with it, so you don't want to skimp out on a PSU. Plus if you were to want to upgrade any part of this system, you'd have to get a new one and replacing a PSU is a major job, espeically if you go for a non-modular PSU like the Corsair VS is.

An analogy I like to think of is that it's similar to a car engine, with the revs being the wattage used and the redline being the maximum wattage. If your revs are always close to the redline, it's bad for the engine and could potentially break it, where as if revs are low and redline is high then it's much happier. It's the same with the wattage of PSU's really

Also, if you're not aware, PC part supply is low and damand is high, which has naturally raised prices. This means a budget gaming PC is a lot more expensive that it was 6 months to a year ago. If you're able to cancel your order and wait until prices reduce and stablise, I'd highly suggest doing so. Alternatively, if you'd like us to recommend a system that has some future potential, we can, but it'd be about £100 over your current budget for something that's actually worth your money.

Thanks, you have been a lot of help. Im really worried now about the PSU breaking on me as this is a lot of money for me.

Do you know roughly the life of this 350w if using it like me? Because I would be able to upgrade it to a 450w or 500w with a couple friends that have both built their PC's and will know how to do the upgrade.

I would hope for this in 1.5 - 2 years? Is this the kind of length my 300w would last?

You are able to change your order to upgrade your PC before its sent, which would save you needing to change it with your friends. If the order is in pre-production, you can amdend it for free. If it has gone into build, you'll have to pay a fee. How you do it specifically, I'm not sure as I haven't done it but I imagine it'll be somewhere on your orders page on your account. I'm sure someone will be able to help you find it if you're unable to. For the PSU itself, I'd recommend a 550W TXm PSU as a minimum, but something like the TXm 750W or the the 850W RM would be a much better choice as it will supposedly allow you to upgrade in the future.

If you're going to stick with this build and not cancel and wait or cancel and change builds (which I'd recommend one of the two), I'd also add 2 PCS fans into the case too, as that was your original question. The cost of that should be £9.

I will try and change, only ordered less than 24hrs ago so shouldnt have started build yet hopefully

Just confirming that a 450w would solve the problem?? (I will also add 2 fans)

a 450W would be better but generally the more overhead you give it, the more comfortably it'll run, within reason. I'd go for a 550W TXm unit as it'll give you a larger overhead as well as a gold rating instead of a bronze which will mean it'll also be more power efficient too

The 450w is way better price wise. Is it still a bit sketchey with a 450w or will it help
What about the CV550W? It's only £7 more than the CV450 and will give you 100W more watts, and realisitcally is what I'd start to advise for a 1660 Super with no plan to upgrade. You seem quite tight on budget and the 450 I guess will be okay, but as I've said, the more W you go for, generally the more comfortable the system wil be, so if you're able to I would recommend the upgrade.

Thanks Junior for your help. I got those 2 extra case fans and 450w psu. It may not be a 550w gold but it will be better than 350w.

Is there any way I can rate your service or anything as you were really nice and helpful. (I know ur not PCS employee)

Exactly, the 450 will be better than the 350.

And not especially, although the kind words are enough for me! 😄 I'm glad I've been of help and I hope you enjoy the PC when it arrives!

Is there not at least a way of doing it without in built graphics?.
If its going to be a capped or limited build to keep to his budget, you can still spec something that will work a little better I would of thought.
