Check my Spec! for a Trading/office PC setup

Hi all.

Im looking to build a PC to do the following as fast and efficiently as possible.

To run a Brokerage/trading platform with multiple (probably 4 windows) open alongside multiple Excel (or office) documents, multiple web pages, Discord, and email, perhaps with youtube or music playing in the background.

I'm going for a 4 monitor setup with one devoted to Excel (office), one devoted to explorer/email/Discord and the remaining 2 handling the 4 windows open from the trading platform. I'm not interested in gaming, streaming, video/image editing, just need a fast "Office" PC.

Your thoughts and questions on the below would be welcome.

Cheers Pete.

What's your budget for the system and what was the price of the above (shows as £0.00 in that list)?

You likely won't need Norton so I'd suggest removing that as a starter for 10.

The link quotes £670. You'd probably want to spend it bit more.

And as Steaky says, avoid Norton. These days it's little better than malware and Windows Defender will give you the protection you need.

For future upgradeability you need to be using an AM5 system as the AM4 platform is now dead and has no future upgrade options.

Let us know your budget and the help guys on here will make some good suggestions for you.

This one comes in on budget and importantly gives you upgradability going forward. I've opted for branded components for the RAM and SSD where PCS has own brand as an option. The GPU that I selected will handle your video and image editing way better than the more than a decade old option you had selected.

Others on the forum might make improvements.

Thanks Paul. This is exactly the reason I posted, to get up-to-date info on a component that might have otherwise tripped me up. Cheers again.

Slight rebalance, changed the GPU to Intel as just for display output, so only requires the 4 ports. Totally agree both the GT1030 and GT730 are a waste of cash even for basic display as they're quite limited max resolution (4k max for the GT1030 which would do 4 x 1080p screens but doesn't allow for any potential resolution increase. The Intel card has double the max resolution at 8k

Increased RAM to 2 dimms at 6000MHz for better performance and stability (dual channel works best in single pairs)

I would suggest adding a second SSD when you're able to (takes you over budget in this config) to offload any data from the OS as best practice

Thanks lads, seems your both pretty much on the same page with this now which is very reassuring.
"to offload any data from the OS as best practice" what do you mean by this Squirrel? is this a form of backing up the OS onto a separate drive for recovery purposes?
Cheers again lads I'll be buying within the week, just need to double check a few bits and pieces, appreciate your time. Cheers Pete

OS and any Data should always be on separate drives, so when you have to reinstall windows or if it becomes corrupt (you‘ll need to clean install at least annually) you don’t have to worry about your data
