defianceX 17 vs elimina-pro-16: Which is better

I can't seem to decide between these two. Everything is pretty much the same in them.

Which one is better and how?

Hello, sorry for the delay.

To answer your question, it depends XD
It depends what you'll do with it
So, if you tell us that, we may help you better

(the elimina has a better resolution, but a less powerfull gpu, the defiance has the opposite, so ...)

this being said, both of them have a chassis made by clevo, that i think is a little bit better than the tongfang one, so it's a good choice ^^

Again, it depends of the laptop generation (the previous elimina pro was a tongfang, but this one is a clevo)
So, if you are not really interested in the screen, i'd go for the defiance, i think it will have a more "punch".
The cpu are the same, but the gpu will have more juice.

but if you need something more portable, maybe the elimina is better.

it's hard to help with so little information from you.
(like budget, uses, mobility, will it be coupled with external monitor, any information that may help us to help you to configure your laptop ^^)

But, in any case, this is what i'd recommend for the two chassis
-2 ssd, one for the os, the most used software and file (i'd go for the samsung 980pro, be it 500go or 1to) and a second one for stockage (at least 1to, and i'd go for the samsung 970)
- take as much ram you may need, but choose a pair instead of one stick (it's better) and take the fastest one you can afford (like 32go at 3200MHz)
- take the gpu you need ^^
- take the better thermal paste
- you may want to take win10 if the software you use are not fully optimised for win11
- take the dead pixel guarantee (i'd go for the 1 year) and at least the silver (or better, the gold) warranty

Got it. Maybe the person who told me it was tongfang was confused.

I need portability but my laptop bag is rated for 17" laptops, so hopefully, it will be fine.

I don't want to add too many details to create confusion. 1920*1080 resolution is fine. Both of them support external 4K monitor/TV, so that's not a problem either.

I think 17" is slightly bigger and will have better ventilation which means better CPU performance?


The most important thing for me is CPU performance (don't really care about GPU) and durability.

Well, as i said, last year, the elimina pro was a tongfang, so it's not wrong, just not up to date :D
