I ordered a PC for PCS. I want to know if I need a HDMI cable. This is what I want to buy from amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Premium-HDMI-Cable-Gold-Metre-Black/dp/B000GDI6FC/ref=cm_cd_ql_qh_dp_i

I am guessing I need to connect the HDMI to the graphic's card then the DVI cable to the monitor?

That cable would do the job,but you could also use a straight DVI-D to DVI-D (single link) cable.

My grahpic card i order was a 4GB GTX 770 and it has a HDMI cable. The monitor I also ordered has a DVI- D input. I want to know if I can buy a HDMI cable to connect to my grahpic card to my monitor. ( HDMI to DVI CABLE) .

So i have to buy the DVI to DVI instead of HDMI TO DVI? I am confused.
You don't need to,I said in my first post the HDMI TO DVI would do the job,but you could also use a straight DVI to DVI cable.
Anyway on checking it appears a DVI cable will be supplied with that monitor,so no need to buy anything.
DVI and HDMI use the same digital signal.

The graphics card has a DVI output as well as HDMI.

If you want to connect the laptop to your TV, then HDMI would be better (as long as your TV has an HDMI port, of course). It will also carry sound to your TV, so you won't need extra wires for that.
