Enigma IV Touchpad Stopped Working Win 7

My brother received an Enigma IV for Christmas and has been flawless. But a few days ago the touchpad suddenly stopped working including the buttons. I tried updating the drivers, reinstalling the cd drivers. Also the device properties state it is working correctly. This is on windows 7. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Has your brother done a Windows update recently? Last week was "Update Tuesday" so it's likely he has. I would suggest you uninstall the updates done last week and see whether the touchpad works. This is particularly important if any driver updates were included in the Windows update batch.

@vanthus No i didnt uninstall the existing driver but doesnt an update overwrite it?

@ubuysa Yes he had done the windows updates but it worked for a day after then suddenly stopped. Will give it a try though.

My fear is that is is a hardware problem but want to check every possible software problem first.
Thanks for the replys guys

Sometimes uninstalling a driver before reinstalling can do the trick,so I thought it worth a try.
There should be a keyboard shortcut to disable/enable touchpad, maybe it's somehow been set to disabled, try Fn + F1. or Fn + escape,or check the manual on supplied software disk.
As I said, failing any of the suggested solutions, best to give tech support a call,

Thank you for the keyboard shortcut suggestion, it worked. He must have hit it by accident. I feel pretty stupid forgetting about that button myself now. Thanks again though

I was going to mention the disabled possibility earlier, but as you could install the driver I didn't think the device would be disabled.
Just shows you though, even if you think a possible solution is unlikely to work,it can still be worth a try, glad it worked for you. :)

Crazy isn't it? When faced with a problem we (well, me anyway) tend to start thinking technical when in fact it's often something fairly simple. :censored:

Good catch vanthus. :)
