I will most likely not get my new PC before January 2021, so I am currently making some slight changes before it hits the building stage. The main thing I am not sure of is having two m.2 drives. I have just one selected atm and would appreciate any suggestions regarding a possible second selection ;)

There are some amendments that would need to be made, but what's it for?

What monitor are you pairing it with, what resolution and refresh rate or make and model if you're unsure?

The monitor I have is the LG 27gn-950, running a few games at 3840x2160. However, I am severely limited due to the capabilities of my current machine which is from 2012, with one GPU upgrade. I tend to upgrade my comp every 8-10 years and I want to get it spot on considering the amount of money I am spending.
I am using it for gaming, but I am not a pro so I did not see any point getting an extremely high refresh monitor.

If it were me, I'd reduce the CPU to the 5900x, no real benefit to the 5950x for gaming and in some instances it will actually reduce performance as the sheer amount of cores is too much for some games.

I'd also reduce RAM to 16Gb, unless you have specific requirements for 32Gb outside of normal gaming?

You'll need the H115i Platinum cooler on the 5900x or higher to maintain boost clocks.

You can fit 2 M2 drives if you really want, but it would always be recommended to have an HDD as a data drive as they're more reliable when it comes to failures.

You can then drop the paste as the cooler comes preapplied.

Any reason for the soundcard? They're not really required these days as the motherboard is exactly the same, in fact better in this instance.

Drop bullguard as it's known to cause various issues.

You shouldn't need a display port cable as the monitor comes with one.

Other than that, it's a lovely build.

Nice advice and pretty much leaning in the direction my mind was going. I have downgraded the sound already to the onboard sound. Hmm, I know HDD are more reliable, but I have also seen the SSD's used for games and the speed looks amazing. I will probably make more changes, your advice has helped make my mind up about the CPU..cheers ;)

Yep, with drives, only have an HDD for data.

For games and OS, have an M2, preferably one for each (500 for OS and 1Tb or higher for games), preferably the Samsung 980 Pro's as they are leaps ahead of everything else, although I know there have been stock issues.

Well I have tinkered a wee bit more and have settled on the Samsung 980 pro 500gb for my OS and the Seagate Firecuda 520 2tb for games .
I would have loved to grab a 980 with 2tb for games storage, but PCS do not offer that option.
