What is your budget?

Is the monitor you included a second screen? Just trying to work out where we are as you have put in a 1080p monitor yet added a 4k level GPU...so you would be spending about £600 more than necessary if the monitor is going to be a main
Around 2.6/7k, but the gpu choice was mainly due to my old gpu being a 1050ti so made no sense me going for a 4080 super and kinda similar prices, I was a little iffy about monitors to begin with so may just remove it for now and buy better one at a later point 9 and yes it was planned to be the main monitor as I'm on an old 60hz one. Admittedly I know very little about monitors :(

Can you post the green configuration link, makes it easier to tweak the spec, and what would your budget be for a monitor

Hi, can you include the configurable link to your spec? It will help us to modify your build to be much more suitable for your needs.

About the monitor: what's your maximum budget? Any reason to aim for a dead resolution like 1080p?

Certainly, in regards to why I went for a dead resolution, I honestly know very little about monitors but I have a really old 60hz BenQ currently as main and an old celcus tv for second monitor ,I saw that monitor on special offer when ordering and thought I would use that as a main monitor. Really glad I asked here now as I had no idea its really bad for my build, I think I looked at the 180 hz more than anything else.

I would say my budget for a monitor would be around £200-300. I have removed the old one already but here is the link to the build https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/saved-configurations/amd-am5-pc/Z7pZNCzbxw/

So, we're talking about a £3000 budget for both the PC and the monitor, right?

Here's what I'd do with that budget. :)

As a monitor, I would recommend a good QHD OLED or an Ultrawide 1440p (links below)

AOC QHD: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0D966ZJGR?
GIGABYTE UWQHD: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0D7Q5HMHP?

N.B. Consider using a 7900XT GPU with the Gigabyte one.

I wouldn't be speccing a 4000 series GPU at this point, value wise just doesn't make sense.

The 5070 is under provisioned in VRAM allocation just like the 4070 Super was.

You want 16Gb VRAM minimum for 1440p or ultra wide.

I would suggest a 5070ti for that pairing, they go on sale on the 20th Feb.

Agree, if OP can wait it's definitely worth. :)

Otherwise, a 7800/7900XT could be an alternative. (y)

He could also save £100-110 for the OS license, transfering his one to the new system.

Thankyou for the suggested monitors, the thing is I'm not quite willing to fork out THAT much on a monitor, plus I would be happy with a 24/27 inch as my desk is fairly small anyway. In regards to the OS, I'm currently on win 10 which support stops for in October so I might aswell make the win 11 change now :)

if your budget has reduced then we need to know what we’re working to. Your budget easily affords an OLED which is the best gaming experience, so we’re obviously going to recommend those. But at this level that is generally how much monitors cost.

The idea is you carry over your existing license which you can do legally, then just do the free upgrade to 11.

Save yourself over £100

The AOC is a 27-inch QD-OLED and most likely one of the most affordable on the market.
I feel that will be a good pick, but I will leave it to @SpyderTracks, who knows more about monitors than I do. ;)

If you want to keep the size smaller (24-inch), you need to reduce the resolution to 1080p and hence the GPU accordingly to avoid a waste of money. Everything is related.

thankyou for the insight, might just hold off and aim for an OLEd then, sorry to be asking absolute silly questions but as I said I'm not very knowledgeable in monitors as far as the pc goes, tried to futureproof it as much as possible

It’s a very old panel, standard IPS which is just above entry level these days. For the level of build you’re buying I wouldn’t suggest limiting the pc in that way, just makes no sense

Again, has your budget reduced? If so we need to know the new budget?
I would say £400 budget and no bigger than 27''
