FPS - Arma 2 (Wasteland (Papuwarefare)/Dayz))

ok, so i got an amazing new rig from PCS i7/780ti/HyperXSSD+16GBRam/

I cant buy BF4 yet as I think the missus is buying me it for Christmas.

So I am back to playing Arma 2 specifically wasteland, now I know it can be a demanding game with all the numbers of players and stuff going on, but I seem to be maxing out my FPS at 48...

when Lots of things are going on this is dropping to like 28-34.

Settings are maxed but when I drop them (Shadows and AA) it does not really make any differerence?

It only gets a bit better when I drop the screen and 3d res to 1280 or something.

Anyone have any ideas what is going on?? Is the engine that bad? Or have i mis configured something.

I have played with alunch options cpu count etc and tried optimising the cfg file to no avail

My friend has Arma 2 (and 3) He says the game engine is horribly optimised and he tooks a bit of tweaking to get it running ok. (given he wasnt running a 780ti)

The only 2 things that come to mind are -
1. make sure you have the latest Nvidia drivers
2. check for the latest beta patch for Arma 2

Thats if you havent done those things already :)
