Gamers - Is this processor good?

Hey, so, stupid time for me to ask this as my PC has been ordered - but I'd like to anyway (-:

Basically, I were going for these specs:

Ram:8GB
GFX: Nvidia Geforce GTX560 2GB
Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 3.50 GHZ.

I had this down as a quote with the rest of my chosen stuff for £853

Then, the night before I ordered my processor was discontinued. So in the morning when clicking order this quote I was told my processor had been discontinued.
The only way for me to stay within my budget and still have a decent processor was to order a AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 3.00GHZ Processor.

So, I'm wondering, how far will that get me in gaming. With the GFX + RAM should that be able to max out everything on the market? Or will it not be long before I have to upgrade it?

Most games rely heavily on the GPU rather than the CPU, so you should still be perfectly fine.

Not sure which processor you've actually gone for, but the drop from 3.5 to 3 GHz shouldn't really make too much difference as far as gaming is concerned :)

:) Thanks for the help. I plan to be using this PC for a long time before I ever buy anything new. Thanks to it being a Desktop upgrades are easy :)
